Default Next Gen Legacy to Get H6 Turbo ?

In this month's Car and Driver on page 40 in the B11S review, there is a blurb saying that a version of the B11S's twin turbo H6 will appear in the next generation Legacy. An H6 turbo would be nice

Arrow

shirokuma already headed off any outlandish speculation regarding that 'news' blurb in the News & Rumors forum HERE. I'd settle for a pumped NA H6...

Pumped NA is your wish, eh?

Well at least in JDM format your wish shall be answered Just how pumped do you want it? Something like 245 to 255ps is said to be coming

It'd be a nice option in addition to the new 2.5T and a nice competitor to the other US sedan offerings (e.g. Accord, Altima, 6, Camry). I'm a little slow; what exactly is the 'ps' unit and how does it convert to hp?

Regarding the JDM, does the current 3.0 H6 output the same as the USDM H6? Just wondering...

ps is like .98hp. So, for example, all Japanese cars with "power" have 280ps, which translates to the 276hp figures you always see.

The JDM 3.0 H6 makes a bit more power, in line with the bit better gas available here in Japan.

Thanks for the quick answers. Do you think it likely that the uprated H6 will supplement the current USDM H6 or replace it outright?

I'm pretty sure they will replace it outright. All around problem with the H6 was the fact that it didn't make as much power as needed.

Thumbs up

Good deal. I'm sure the OB shoppers will be happy, too. Although, I really like the idea of the economical H6 as stated in the other thread, as unlikely as it is. Ah well...
