Default NY Auto Show Pics of US STi

Here are a few pictures of the STi at the show. It looks SO NICE up close The rep mentioned a "low 30's" MSRP, which is pretty consistent with the information we've been receiving lately.

Thanks! I'm surprised the images came out as well as they did. The car was rotating on the platform and the audience could only get within 10 feet of the car.

Same at the Toronto car show a couple of months ago. They had it roped off. Don't know if I will ever get used to that hoodscoop.

This might help get a better "feeling" on the massiveness of the hood scoop.

That was a great idea having that dollar bill there.

It puts things in perspective in how large that hood scoop is, which isn't that big at all.

Nice pics of the scoop. How did you get the dollar bill on the hood? I'm guessing that wasn't the display at the NY show

The pics are from the Peterson Auto Museum. When the STi was there.

Kind of what I thought when I saw it in person. I don't know what everyone is freaking out about. Even the wing looks smaller in person and fit the car quite nicely.

What?!?!? That thing is huGE! When I see the car it's like it has a wing in the front and a wing in the back. Too much for my taste. I like the Spec C wing much better.

The scoop is big. I challenge anyone to sit in the drivers seat and not notice how huge that thing is. When I sat in the car at Peterson museum, the scoop grabbed my attention in a markedly noticeable manner.

I don't think this is enough to keep me from wanting the car, but it is weird looking.

The Sti hood scoop is BIG.

It's pass a baby's through it big;
It's soccer goal big;
It's shredder/chipper 'Don Not Put Hands Here' big;
It's F-16 airbrake big;
It's 'Deebo' big;
It's Blockbuster Video return slot big;
It's bulk foods bucket at the supermarket big;
It's steam shovel bucket big;
It's 'Pigeon Landing Zone' big;
It's big enough for cats to get under the hood sleep on the IC big;
It's stupid, freakin, Super Big Gulp, F1 airstack big!

The rear wing is not so big in as much as it looks to be ricey as its mostly only ricers that have these things on their cars.
Folks are used to seeing these oversized double (and even triple) decker wings on Civics, Integra's and Celica's everywhere.

Another item no one has mentioned is that the muffler/can has a very large inside diameter. It looks to be just about the size of Anna Nicole Smith's..........hmm, mouth. Big.

But all this bigness matches the big horsepower and big torque and big overall performance all wrapped up in a small Subie package.
