Default Just wanted to say hello

I've been wanting a Subaru for some time now after seeing what they can do and finally pulled the trigger on a Subaru.
I am picking up a 2016 Subaru STI World rally blue monday morning.

I am coming from the BMW scene and absolutely loved my e36 m3. Owned it for 3 years, drove it like I stole it, and modded it to my liking. A lot of love, time and money was invested in it and currently sitting my driveway waiting for a new home.

I am not ready to mod just yet because I think the car looks very sharp.

Long story short, just wanted to say Hello to the Subaru community and hopefully will spot some of you throughout the NY/NJ area.

E36 was a nice car, ours had to go when the rear struts went through the towers, at 250 k miles.
Enjoy the Sti, be careful with modding the Ej257.

I wasn't going to mod the engine. I am leasing it till I figure out I like the car after 3 years.

I was thinking maybe a vortex roof spoiler. Mud flaps for sure.

Will post up

nice welcome!

wrb is classic, my first subaru was a WRB sti sedan too!

Since you're new it would help the board if you fill out your info so people know what general area you're from/car you drive/etc.

gonna track it?

I will absolutely track it.

Milab,
It could have been. Depending on the dealer you were looking at.

I would like to attend some if I know of them.

Well, winter is over. So no snow tires for this year. For next year I definently will get some. I feel an STI with summer tires is as crappy as a RWD with snow tires

you couldn't be any more wrong about that. it has nothing to do with snow and has all to do with temps. hopefully we don't have any more bad weather. I've had an Sti, now i have a BRZ. i'll take my brz on snow tires over an sti on summers any day of winter.

Wicked big meet is in june, go to that.

local subaru shop (AZP installs) hosts track days in the summer and most of the guys for there are usually at NASA events. you'll see posts in this forum usually about caravans and etc.

Welcome! E36s are timeless..

When your money is right after you get your baby:

1) Get an Accessport and a good tune.
2) Put in some forged pistons, if thats financially feasible--It will be a smart move if you anticipate going hard with the mods. Which is inevitable...
3) Start modding... your block will be good up to about 500WHP. After that you'll be in the danger-zone
**Unless your block is FULLY built-pistons, bearings, rods, springs/valves, cams, studs etc**

Just a lil knowledge I'm passing on.

Good luck

Unfortunately I am not keeping the car. So the pistons won't be happening. I will be working on getting the accessport with supporting mods.

Thank you for the reply

Stage 1 is great with the SF intake. I definently feel a huge improvement in tq.

I'm close to hitting the peak boost.
