News Verizon jobs

I thought I would share with ya'll a bit of insider knowledge. Verizon is hiring and will keep on hiring throughout this year and it's not inconceivable they'll keep on hiring into 2006.

Trip,

Thanks for the advice and sorry for the late reply. The SOA job doesn't fit my skills or the job you were referring has been filled by the time I inquired.

In any case, I am close to getting a new job. I just need to iron out a couple of things in my employment 'contract'.

On another note, my previous employer, who laid me off, hasn't paid my last two weeks and contesting my unemployment compensation claim. The owner is a real piece of work. No increase in a year and a half in the company (after receiving several praises from my clients), took away our insurance (after we found out that he was not remitting the insurance payments), several late paychecks and bounced paychecks and all sorts of money problems.

I am a Drexel University student majoring in Electrical Engineering looking for a co-op position for 6 months from September to March. I am looking for a position in the Electrical Engineering field. I would like to specialize in automotive, but it is not necessary.

Here is some information on co-op: http://www.drexel.edu/scdc/employer-...yer/index.html
Also, you do not need to go through Drexel to hire, if that concerns you.

Please PM me for my resume and additional information.

Skills required for the position would be some (not necessarily all) of the following:

FreeBSD 4.x, 5.x
Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES/AS 2.1, 3.0, 4.0
Windows 2K/2K3 server
MSSQL
MySQL
Apache
IIS
qmail
Bacula
Veritas
scripting languaguages such as PHP, ASP, bash, sh, Perl are very helpful

You would be communicating with clients via phone and email. Some light hardware work might be required -- building servers, upgrades, etc...

Default Global Financial firm looking for Data Modeler/Architect

My department is looking for an experienced Data modeler/Architect.

DBA and Technical skills and do not matter much, but good understanding of the financial business and personal skills are valuable. Must have experience using CASE tool such as ERWin and excellent data analysis skills. I think the salary is around $70-80K. Located next to Lincoln Tunnel in NJ.

Send me PM. We have one person who had just retired; one transferred to other department and one just resigned. Therefore we are in desperate need of finding a data modeler.

I've been working with 'em for 2 years now and I can't stop talking about how much fun it is and how well they treat their employees. We do have long hours, but we are always looking for reasons to party. If a day is hectic enough, after closing up we all go to Fridays or some other place for happy hour (and we expense it of course!). Last October we rented the USS Intrepod for a "milestone" party which was a blast. I guess you could say we work hard, but party harder. Anyways, everybody is young and right out of college. Most managers are in their mid-20's and promotions are always taking place. You get to meet a lot of interesting people and you get to drive practically every car under the sun (from a Toyota Echo to a Jaguar to a Lincoln Towncar to an Escalade to a Cavalier to a... you get the point). To sum it all up, every day is different, and you're guaranteed to have fun and make lots of friends.

Okay, now time for the requirements. You need to have a four year degree in something. Doesn't matter what, just a 4 year degree. If no 4 year degree, 4 years of sales experience works too! Also, you can mix and match, like having an associates (2 year) and 2 years of sales experience. And most importantly you must have a clean driving record. So if you've got caught trying to out-run the cops, don't bother applying.

Finally, if any of this interests you or you have any questions about the job, shoot me a PM. I'll be glad to honestly answer them to the best of my ability. To apply, go to their website for recruitment and fill out the online application. There is also a bunch of info on their site about the work environment. When applying, put my name down as your referral so they can call me and I'll vouch that you're a hard worker and a good person!

Tom Greulich (Employee # 6317W)

Enterprise Rent-A-Car is always looking for new-hires (mainly because we're always under-staffed) and we're found all over the US. In fact, we're the largest rental car company in the world right now, and as long as there are cars around, we'll be renting them. So give it a shot, you've got nothing to lose!
BTW, did I mention we're desperate for help and we provide superb benefits? Good, just checking!
We are looking for summer interns! The summer season is always the most busy. If you are looking for a great summer job with an opportunity to work as many as 60 hours/week (keep in mind, 20 of those hours are 1.5 pay $$$) or as little as 25 hours/week, we need you. If you're not interested in working up front, we are always hiring car-preps and drivers too! All you need is a clean driver's license for all of the positions. Apply online, you won't regret anything! Any questions, feel free to PM me.
