My wife told me yesterday that her company, Phillips-Van Heusen in Bridgewater, NJ is looking for a Compensation Analyst. I can get more info from her, but they're looking for someone with a few years of experience in Benefits and Compensation, but probably not more than 5. I think they also use Lawson regularly.

Anyway, feel free to PM me if you have relevent experience, I can forward a resume along to her.

Hey Folks, not sure if anyone here can help or not, but I was just let go from my job at Merrill Lynch after 22+ years yesterday. It is still sinking in, and I don't even have a resume (last time I had one was about 13 years ago) but I do plan on having one within a couple of days. My experience runs from Electronic Trading and Trade Support; Electronic transfers via ACATS; handling Restricted securities and the removal of legend for them; back office operations; Client Service and so on.

I know this isn't the best of times for brokerage, but I figure I can do Customer Service anyplace or even vendor support (depending upon the product).

Thanks.

Mark

Guys, my girlfriend just got laid off because sales are slumping.

She's an expereinced receptionist / customer service rep., and she's handled everything from sales support to editing / proofreading to general office work.

If anybody knows of anything, please shoot me a PM!

BACKGROUND: Currently working as an administrator at a local high volume motorcycle dealership. I've been with the same company for almost 3 years now. Previously worked retail (for around 5 years or so), and also did a few years of construction.

EDUCATION: Graduated with a Bachelors from the University at Albany in Sociology/Criminology.

LOCATION: Currently located in Fairfield county, Connecticut, but am willing to rellocate for the right position/opportunity. I am originally from the suburbs of New York City, and would have no problem moving to that area.

LOOKING FOR: As of right now, I am fairly happy with my job. However, it is a job, I am looking for a career. I have climbed the ladder with my current company, and am looking to expand my skills somewhere else. I have started to look more into a career dealing with my studies, so something with law or human resource work may be a nice change of pace. Since I do enjoy doing what I do now, I am not opposed to finding a career within the automotive/motorcycle industry.

Thanks for any help/suggestions...

plenty of jobs in the Jersey City Board of Education for those that are looking, and the postings vary. Teachers are always in demand for those that have a bachelours and are currently unemployed, there is some loops u have to go through, but I can definitely guide you through it.

Also for those looking for part time during the day, substitute teaching i believe pays 85 bucks a day.

Either way hit me up on a PM, I'm a math teacher btw.

Soon after I started this post I was employed and was very happy with my new Position. Here I am again 4 years later (as luck will have it) looking at my same post and Laid off once again.

Update on my experience -

Sales and Business development (Full Resume at request) - Last 4 years I’ve been working at a local Motorcycle dealership doing Sales and Financing (#1 in sales last 2 years minus a month or 2). While working there full time I was also helping a friend start his Importing Business setting up accounts and acquiring contacts in Japan.

Key words: Sales, Business development, Marketing, and Merchandising to name a few.

I'm mostly looking for Sales and or Business development (some may argue its all the same) considering it’s definitely my thing. I do however have plenty of Mechanical experience and would be open to anything with a real future connected to it.

Thanks guy,

Bob

Hey all,

Just thought I might get some career input here as I think I'm planning to move back from the states from London around Christmas time. I'm a recent college grad from CT and looking to move to Brooklyn.

I've got an honors degree from UCONN in English and Journalism, and work experience in everything from reporting (Hartford Courant), starting a business (Subaru swap shop a few of you may be familiar with) and customer service/sales (over here in London).

Like all grads, I'm not really sure what I want to do, so I'm not picky about my next job - interested in marketing, business development, advertising, PR, NGO work - I'm open to most anything around the city. Obviously I'd prefer a younger, energetic company.

Any words of wisdom (or interest in my CV)?

Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

James

Hey -- hoping someone can help me out.

I'm trying to help my GF with the job hunt. She's looking for a good entry-level (just graduated from Binghamton University with a B.S. in Business Management with a Concentration in Marketing) job in New York City. Specifically marketing/advertising/p.r.

If anybody has anything, please let me know, I'd greatly appreciate it (and so would she)

Thanks for the interest. I worked for Johnson & Johnson for my co-ops. I had a lot of decent responsibility because i wasn't on their typical intern system. Plus my boss had quit and I was the only one that knew what she did...so I was actually contributing to the company.

I can send you a resume and letter of rec. if you like...send me your email
