One of the guys here at work is from Aberdeen, Scotland. He has a friend there who has an Exige. He says it's a great handling car, but it's very noisy. Plus, if you're over 6', you'll have a hard time getting in and out of it. The guy here at work is 6'4" and about 275 pounds. He said he has to put his hands on the ground and kind of "roll" out of his friends Exige...

I have seen one of those in person at the Starbucks at MacArthur and 114.... a while back.... beautiful car.... but you would need to replace that engine with a Honda B18C5....

[Homer] .....mmmmmm......340R.......[/Homer]

The new version of the Lotus Elise is coming stateside sometime in the near future.

It's not quite an Exige, but pretty damn close. Plus, the new body for the Elise is simply a work of art.

Also, why the hell would you want a Honda motor when you already have a perfectly great Lotus engine?

The engine that comes in the car is nothing spectacular.... one of the most ocmmon (from what I have seen) upgrades is the Integra Type R motor.... Lotus doesn't build motors, they build chassis.... the Espirit gets a Chevy 5.7L in it.... I don't know where the 1.8L in the Elise/Exige comes from...

The Esprit doesn't use a chevy motor, unless chevy started making a 3.5 liter V-8.

Lotus gets their motors for the Exige, Elise, etc. from Rover, who makes some kick ass motors.

Link for Esprit

Link for Exige whose motor makes more than 100hp/liter.

Link for Elise that uses the same 190hp Rover motor. Believe it or not the Elise slows down when you put the Type-R motor in it because it's similar output but weighs 50-60% more, which also upsets the chassis balance.

Why stop with a B18C when you can add the newer K20A. MMM, light weight car and a big 2.0 honda motor equals More power...

0-60 = 3.7
0-100 = 8.9

why go through the hassle of swapping in a motor that rotates the opposite direction when the B18C5 already has a kit to bolt it in???

Even one up on the K20A... you can put a F20C1 (S2K) in it! Nice!

I don't know how you would drive it M-F when its not street legal, but it would be a great track car. I have a sweet Top Gear review of the Elise.

IM me for file transfer if anyone wants it : Rohde88
