Default Stupid, quick questions about ABCs for Utec/Unichip

Does the unichip and utec both use the same ABC? I have a blue ABC from my unichip, but the utec came with the silver one.
Also, is the ABC required to set my boost with the UTEC?
Thanks,
Mike

When I had my TXS Unichip and now that I have my Utec they came with the same ABC. Also like you the Unichip ABC was blue and Utec ABC is silver.

The ABC isn't required to up the boost with the Utec, but unless you have another form of boost control the OEM set up will only allow you to hit 1 bar. While the Utec stags require a little more then that.

I have run 18psi with the ABC fully closed. I think it depends on your particular setup (specifically turbo and down-pipe) and your altitude.

Now maybe one of the TurboXS crew can answer this question. Since I can hit 18 psi with the ABC closed is it better to run it closed, or open it a turn and adjust the boost map values accordingly?

My ABC is also fully closed. I had it open 3/4 turn when I was running stage 2. I never tried it closed then. When I went to stage 4, Phil advised me to try it with the ABC shut first, and it's worked well like that.
