Default New RS wheels ---->> WRX ...

Does anyone know if the newer model RS wheels will fit (offset, width, etc. ) on a WRX? I know that the older style rims will fit, but how about the newer ones? Thanks.....

in a word, yes.
don't know the offset or dimensions, but they should fit. imprezas are standard accross the board, +53 offset. the only thing is i don't know if they have the same brake sizes. if for some reason the wrx has larger stock brakes (which i doubt), then the rs wheels may not fit. but i doubt that is the case...

i'm pretty sure they have virtually the same stock wheels...

PLEASE do not make 'blanket' statements like this- the +53 offset doesn't hold true for every rim width! That being said, the 98-01 RS wheels are all 16" by 7", +53 offset. They will fit on the WRX fine- it's still an Impreza . The WRX has larger rotors (4 pot size) but retains the same two piston front caliper size the old school RS has. The old school RS rim's 7" width leaves more room for brakes than the stock WRX 6.5" wide rims, and you need a set of them (or a set of similar 7" wide rims) to fit say a Subaru 4 pot brake caliper.

my mistake... i was refering to the fact that from 1998-2003, the 2.5RS and, more recently, the WRX have come from the factory with wheels that have a +53 offset. meaning that the new 2.5RS (MY02-03) should fit a WRX.
greg (hoping he's not wrong about it this time... )

If your talking about the bug eye 2.5 RS, yes the wheel will fit. They are the exact same wheel. There is no difference.

This thread is moderately confusing me. Do the 04 WRXs come with 4pots?

I thought they were cosmetically a little different, like "larger" spokes without the small space in between.........

okay, i take responsibilty for the confusion...however, i don't know. my interpretation of brian's thread is that the wrx has large 4pot-sized rotors, but has 2pot calipers. so that means that the wrx does not have 4pots (?). okay, so my question is, does that mean that to upgrade to the sti 4pot front brakes, would i only have to get the calipers?

02 and 03 2.5RS and WRX wheels are identical. 16"X6.5" with a 53mm offset. The ones you are talking about sound like the wheel covers that come on the 02-03 2.5TS, which is the wagon version of the RS. They use steel wheels with plastic covers that look like you are describing. And then there's the 02-03 Outback Sports, which I believe also use a different wheel, but I'm not sure if it's a 15 or 16 inch.

If you have a WRX yes all you need is the calipers to use the 4pots. You already have the rotors.
