Still no sound clips. The laptop that I am trying to get the mic working on has definitely seen better days.
I will see if I can borrow a laptop or find an alternative method to record the sound.
Venting to atmosphere will have an affect on the car. What happens is that the MAF sensor (the sensor mounted in the air filter box) measures the amount of air entering the engine, when the BOV vents some of this "metered" air to the atmosphere the ECU doesn't know to compensate for the lost air and it can result in a rich condition momentarily. Of course, venting to atmosphere is what creates the loud "Pssst" sound that some people are looking for.
I prefer and would recommend the recirculating BOV for anyone in need of a BOV that is capable of flowing more air than the stock valve and isn't changing the BOV mainly for the sound.
