I'm especially thankful for the "STi" indicator - God knows how easy it will be to forget which Impreza you're driving.

After all, it's only indicated on the trunk lid, (non) fog light covers, fenders, seat backs, key, optional floor mats... I must be forgetting some.

Sorry for the rant - this is one of my (few) pet peeves about the car. I half expect the horn / alarm chirp to be a digitized audio clip ("S-T-i !").

(Won't stop me from getting one, though.)

Glenn, thanks as always for the detailed info.

are these gauges the ones that are very similar to the defi BF gauges, basically blacked out in the off position then nicely lit when turned on, with a full sweep check of the needles.

Why, yes they are!
...and hear that? Audible time to shift sound...
It may not be heard during break-in period.

I don't believe you! Where you hear that from? Who's your source. Actually I'm just joking!
We know you have some inside source...the truth is out there. Thanks for the facts on the instrument cluster. Looks rather busy...which is totally fine. However didn't you forget the Tach and Speedo? Maybe the Sti has the new voice controlled tach and speedo (hahaha).

Cheers,

Davis

Hey Glenn,

It sounds like you have access to some manuals. While you're perusing the pages, maybe you can look some stuff up for me. I remember reading (quite some time ago) that a coolant line went through the throttle body. Some were making a bypass mod to bypass the throttle body. Is that coolant path still present?

Thanks.

I don't have that info, sorry.

And perhaps I just looked at a show car's instrument cluster in great detail....
