Default Pennzoil vs. Castrol

Just changed my oil to Pennzoil 5W30. First oil change I've done, its preety easy. I also changed the oil filter to Purolator Ultra. Is that a good combination and is Pennzoil good? After I bought it I read that it uses some cheap oil from Pennsilvania. I was wondering if Castrol GTX 5W30 is better than Pennzoil 5W30. I live in Miami now so I guess I need thicker oil for the hot temperatures, is that right? This is the 3rd oil change after 2 of them done before had valvoline oil and valvoline oil filter. Is that better? I just do it myself because it saves me some money 13 compared to 22 at the dealer. Any advice is welcome.

Yup sounds good. With the money you saving I would switch to a synthetic. Mobil 1 is good stuff.

Thanks for all the information, Ill go with Mobil 1 5w30 syntech nmy next oil change. In the Subaru dealer back in Chicago they put Valvoline Performance Filter which isnt Purolator which isnt Subaru I guess. I got another question... If I just pur in 4 quarts and my owners manual sais I need 4.2, do I do any harm running with 4? I don't see any sideeffects. Does anybody know how much 4 quarts og the Mobil 1 oil cost in Miami in Discount Auto Parts because I don't know hehe
