But if you're going to buy a BOV then this one gets the job done (noisemaker) with a nice tone and duration, plus it adds some bling under the hood all for a great price.

i sold my forge because the sound wasn't quite what i wanted. one of the quietest of the 100% atmos. venting valves. if you just want a little psshh, this is perfect. |

It is constructive though... it is also true
. Those persons who think changing the BOV on a WRX will increase performance instead of just noise are deluding themselves . Just because LinuxGuy doesn't happen to agree with the masses does not mean his point is any less valid .Brian |

I have to also agree with Linux Guy. I would love to have the nice blow-off sound, but I'm not will to reduce my performance. Please check out the following website for a lot more detail:

I like the Forge - but the recirculating model. I did not do it for noise... there are benefits to certain BOV upgrades (but none of them come from atmospheric). The last thing I want when I am increasing power and boost is for a slow responding BOV to allow my engine speed to keep increasing on upshifts. However since our ECM utilizes the MAF and is so touchy about what it has sensed you should keep all air that goes by it in the system - plus the better spool recovery - get recirculating.

Jehcpa, how much boost are you running? Did you notice a great difference in response time from the forge recirc? Also, would you say that the sound is louder than the stock valve? (And are you running a CAI/Short ram intake?)

~ 17 psi, the release of pressure when letting off the throttle is immediate, yes it is a bit louder with the snorkus removed - but this would not be a bov for someone who wants to run around sounding like a rally car.
