Default STi pink

I am really suprised the STi made it over here retaining it's pink heritage.
Pink in our culture is the most feminine of colors and pink badging on a car won't be understood my 90% of ppl to what it means. How can one feel manley driving a car plastered with pink in our society? How many of you will devoid the car of STi badging? Does it matter?

The reason I brought this up is that I have a V7 STi conversion that is pretty complete to include all exterior mods. I have had numerous ppl ask "dude, why do you have pink sh$t on your car?" And I have to go into a ten minute dissertation on how STi is the performance division of Subaru and that pink is their trademark color and that in Japan pink is not considered feminine...etc....

your thoughts?

If its that big a deal to you take it off or dont buy the car. I think I would have a harder time explaining the giant wing and bright blue interior then a small pink badge, but then again I dont really care what people think about me much less my car.

..yep.. it'll certainly have me questioning my sexuality.. uh huh..

If you start feeling a bit funny after driving it, just go shoot some racoons out back, that'll get ya mind off things..

uh....well...ok

If I had a hang up on pink badging I wouldn't have it on my car. Not my point.

Giant wings and bright interiors are all over on cars in the US...pink is not. The only pink on cars around here is on cadillacs that MaryKay provides. How will pink be received by your fellow workers, friends, general public....

btw...I have fired off a few rounds at racoons and other small animals from my back porch while drinking

Sorry if my point was not clear, I was trying to say I dont know how people will react to it, but I dont care either. And its just 3 little letters(on about 20 different places on the car) who gives a damn?

I don't think yellow is very manly either but I see a bunch of men driving around yellow cars.

A few pink stickers doesn't matter one way or the other.

My question is this, are the silver STIs and Black STIs going to have pink on them still? Because Silver and pink just plain ol' doesn't go together. I was hoping that the Silver cars would have more of a "gunmetal" color to the STI badging.

This has got to be one of the funniest threads...

I think I am secure enough about my sexuality to say that the pink/blue/gold combo on the Sti doesn't really have me wanna shout out YMCA.

But in all honesty, I think that Subaru are the only people that can get away with it because it is consistent reminder of their rally heritage and they have stuck with it for almost a decade now. I know all my friends with cameros, mustangs and other "muscle cars" will have a lot of BS to say about the pink stuff but its a pity that they don't have equally enough things to say when I tell them that I'll see them at the track .

So I don't think that the pink lettering will really bother me that much because it's one of the main things that will strike fear into the ricers that will be constantly buging me to street race . Anyways hopefully the huge wing, hood scope and the pink lettering can be translated into ****off in ricer lingo....

The decals can always be removed. And there's always paint for those pink badges, if it is such a concern. There may be even replacement badges of sorts to replace the stock ones...

Soon an individual who sees pink on your car means, "I just lost."

All you need to do is remove the back badge -- that's all anyone's ever going to see.

(Maybe I'll see if the license plate "DIG CHIX" is available just in case... It doesn't help that Subaru of America started an advertising campaign to get the "pink" crowd interested in Subarus, even using Martina Navratilova in a commercial for the Forrester.)

The Pink is there for a good reason, as it shows the SENSITIVE side to the otherwise "He-Man" appearance of the STi

But really, there are plenty of ways for a man to prove his worthiness in bed, and the color of his car's badging should not one of of those ways.

If anyone seriously has a problem with what people will think about the pink badge I suggest you put your money into a f-150 then jack it up put some big mud tires on it and a big honkin grill. That should satisfly your manley image enough so no one will question you.

Or get a old trans am, or better yet combine the two http://texasta.com/

This is not a question about about being secure sexually or questioning ones manhood. That's just ridiculous. I could give 2 grogans. I'm talking about the way it looks in terms of color combination. It clashes to my eye is what i'm trying to say. Silver and pink just doesn't do it for me. When/if i get a silver STI i'm certainly going to go to my body shop and have them either paint them a gunmetal color or just shave the Sti emblems in the front and back and paint the side markings in gunmetal. Now, to me, that would look excellent. And if i were to get a black one, i would do them in silver. I know, i know, that's killing the traditional colors but i make my own for my car and when it gets done i'm sure you will all like it

All that's left if for a girl to post here saying, "I think the pink looks cute." Then every guy will race to repaint the badges.

Thumbs up "Cute!" LoL

This could bring back the fad of those tan shoes with the pink shoe laces from the fifties!! I guess getting a matching pink shirt is just out of the question?!

it's no secret subaru incorporates poor exterior designers for the american market. they did try to correct the mistake about the bug-eye look, but it seems they went from bad to real bad. i don't know if there was a restaffing event when the 02 wrx models entered the american market, but it sure does seem like it.

bottom line, subaru does not understand the american market performance section, in terms of eye candy.

We say they're feminine, they call us dull yanks with only tastes in bland colors and never any kind of pastel.........i think the pink livens things up quite a bit, i also have lavender colored furniture and pastel yellow/blue walls, what you gotta say about that?

ps: the chicks dig my house, they think its artistic
