Are the wagon and sedan FRONT bumpers the same part, ie interchangable?

The wagon part # is 57704FE010 Bmpr Face Front

As far as I'v seen no...the Wagons have scoops on the side's while the Sedans just have vents. Also, dont forget the Sedans have fender flares (dont know if that makes a difference, but it might for fitment).

Maybe someone else can say if they are interchangable, because I dont know.

If you're talking about the bumper covers (i.e. the plastic visible bumper instead of the structural beam inside), the compatibility issue between the sedan and wagon come mostly because the sedan has a wider front fender than the wagon. Iirc, there are some clips on the top side of the bumper cover that needs to attach to the fenders.

I recall a thread about a member selling a bumper cover because it doesn't fit the other type (sedan for wagon or vice versa).
Bump for whoever has tried.

Yes I am talking about the bumper cover. Looking at pictures I am starting to think it wont fit, but i'd love to know for sure.

Default more pictures

Here are two exploded views of the front bumper cover + bumper beam assembly. One is for the GD, one for the GG.

The more I look at them, the more it seems that the difference is only because of the fenders. Looks to me like the side clips are where they would be different, in the sense that the sedan's would be located farther away from the centerline, even if they are located approximately the same with respect to the bumper cover. If you're thinking of using a GD bumper cover for a GG, you may need to bend the cover quite a bit.

nice one

The situation is this, I posted my wagon bumper cover in the FS forum. And the person who wants to buy it has a sedan, and neither of us are sure if it will fit. Looks like it wont though, if it could i'm sure there would be alot more "bumper swaping" on the forums.

Well i learned something.

Thanks.

Looking closer at that image, maybe it would fit.

It shows that the bumper bar, and frame are the same part # for both cars, so it must attach in the same place.

The part numbers other than the bumper cover itself may be identical, but I'm almost sure that the mounting point for the side clips are located farther from the centerline (of the car's longitudinal axis) for the sedan case. Hence, GD cover on a GG needs to be pressed in, and conversely, GG cover on a GD needs to be pulled wider.

width....

sedan 68.1"
wagon 66.7"

I'd say it wont fit....
the wagon is a good 1.5" shorter - bolt / clip holes are not going to line up right...

That's quite a difference.

Perhaps heating the plastic a bit and bending it would work? Maybe also drill new bolt-on & clip-on holes.

I'm sure someone had tried this before, but i cant find it with a search....

Unless a sedan parks in front of my house and i run out there and check, i'll presume it wont fit.

Thanks all.
