Default Look at my new desktop!

Cropped & resized it myself!

You can get a copy here:
1024x768
1280x1024
1600x1200

You can resize it to make it smaller, or PM me and I can make a custom one (mine is 1152x864).

Well.....no, I didn't shoot it myself. But it'd be a lot cooler if I did.

Cobreth, here ya go! 1280x1024
(this was special made for you, due to the different aspect ratio as compared to 1024x768,800x600,etc.)

i guess i don't get it. how did you "make" the desktop?

you just formatted it to .bmp or something and cropped it to the proper aspect ratio and set to proper resolution???

matt, seriously, why does it need to be so big for your background? just use the 1024X768 file. it will stretch to fit the screen and you really won't be able to tell the difference (unless you have crazy good vision and assuming the file was larger than 1600X1200 to begin with)

Ok ok ok....I think you're taking me too literally. How bout...I "created a background by reformating a high resolution photo I found, and then touched it up, and then properly sized it for my screen". In any event, I like it & I thought I'd share.

Well, it started out at 2400x1634, so it should turn out OK. Here it is if you wanna try it out.

i already did. and i don't know what you're talking about. on a 19" monitor, you're looking at 72 dpi for a 1024X768 image. if you were on a 21" monitor, I might buy it.

all of my wallpaper is at 1024X768 - they all look great.

http://burnedimage.afraid.org/wallpaper/

those are all mine.

Can you read any text on your 19" with 1600x1200 resolution?

I can't. So I run 1024x768

You know you can increase the font size while still maintaining the high resolution right? I think most people think fonts are totally dependant on your resolution. I have my 15" laptop screen run at 1400x1200, and the fonts are just as big as my 17" pc LCD that runs at 1280x1024.

And they're all super crisp and sexy.

No. Just view the image in Internet Explorer or whatever, right mouse click, and choose "Set as wallpaper". That's it.

I feel ya Cyberdemon.

I stretched to 1600x1200 and it looked like @ss.
There are some things about resolution and so forth that just can't be explained to other people adequately, that is until they "get it" and it clicks in their head *** you are talking about.

I've tried to explain it several time to no avail.

But I just resized the big version and all is now well...

and THANK YOU NIC!!! This is an awesome pic, and is now my background too
