Question couple questions about vinyl...

ok i am considering ordering the set of 4 swooshes that are from the wrc car and i had a couple of concers before i attempted this..

1. what are the risks of vinyl to paint over time...is it hard to remove, any fading, anything to harm paint??

next...
on the big decals on the sides, i noticed that part of the decal actually goes OVER the door handle..what kind of work need to be done to make this look as neat as possible over the doorhandles..
also it fits over the side molding on the doors..how should i go about going over these
im all new to applying vinyl so any help will be GREATLY appreciated..and also..

if you have pics of your car with these very decals please post pics here so i can take a good look at what im going for...

I work in the vinyl films business and the quality of the vinyl and the adhesive is top priority. You get what you pay for. Vinyl is inherently very weather resistant which leaves the adhesive. Look for stickers with acrylic adhesives. These are the best for weatherability and resistance to UV. A good film will actually protect the paint underneath so as the paint around it weathers, you may see some difference...over years.

Thumbs up

I've got the "good" vinyl stickers on my car and have taken off the ones on the bumpers after 2 years and there wasn't any fading. I buffed it and it looked as good as new! (The vinyl will most likely fade but not your paint.)

If this will be your first time putting on vinyl stickers then you should let a pro do it since your going witht the swoosh which is really diffucult to put on and you might mess it up at least if the pro messes up he will pay for a new one and if you mess up well look a paying for a new and the stickers are not cheap.

risks? none...
good vinyl (level 7) will last and last...
will not fade, bubble or chip...
will not do anything to the paint at all!

doorhandles and side molding...
let a pro do this... i pay them to install... no way am i paying $200 for stickers and then messing up the install!!!
let and experienced vinyl detailer install them for you, it really doesnt cost that much more...

But I let a professional do it, so that BOTH sides are even, and in proportion to everything. He did a great job going over the door handle, and the key hole. In my words, he was perfect. I wouldnt attempt this on my own...
