Default Saw new STI at NY Auto Show

Ok I own a 2003 Z06 so I am very unbiased about this matter. I just went to the New York Auto show at lunch and the STi and EVO were both on my list of "must see" cars.

I gotta tell you that for my money, the STi wins hands down. Of course I am a car buff so I am well aware of the power differences and the active differential that the EVO does not have (at least not in US form). But even putting the power differences aside which in itself would have sold me on the STi, the STi just looks much better and more aggressive.

In addition, it appeared that the STi was getting a lot more attention than the EVO.

The only change I would make to the STi if I got one (please no flames here....to each their own), would be to lose the top half of that huge rear spoiler. Other than that, the car looks great. BTW, it appears that the rear spoiler is in two pieces so I do not think that it would be too much trouble for a good body shop to remove the top half and clean it up.

For those of you getting the new STi, it's gonna be a great car! Enjoy!

I went yesterday and there was nobody looking at the EVO, I was shocked. Nevertheless I think DCM will be able to find 6500 buyers per year without breaking a sweat.

The biggest crowd I saw was for the Caddy 16.

There was an entire thread dedicated to that. I did a fairly nice photoshop job on page 2.

Thanks guys for the kind responses....thought I might get flamed for the comment on changing the rear spoiler. But it looks like some others feel as I do about the spoiler and already photochopping changes (by the way metoo....the photoshop you did on the spoiler looks great...nice work).

What a great car....I kinda felt bad for the Evo cause it was sitting there getting almost no attention when in fact it only arrived on the US shores a couple of months ago. And it is really a great car but the STi did a "one up" on it. I guess Subaru had their number and played thier card at exactly the right time.

Oh and there was ony guy staring at the STi for hours! He just couldn't break himself away (no it wasn't me). I could see he knew everything about the car and kept talking to the woman who was there respresenting Subaru. Or maybe he just liked her

In any case, I hope the dealers don't play any games when the cars start hitting the shores.
