Arrow Anyone Have CHROME Wheels on their WRX?--Thinking of Dipping My VOLKS

Hey everyone,

First off, I know there's gonna be some comments about chrome wheels being ricey, as bad as putting on ALTEZZAS, etc, but to each his own, so please don't flood this thread w/replies of the aforementioned nature.

Having said that, are there any WRX's out there w/chrome wheels? I don't know what's come over me, but I'm actually considering having my VOLK LE-37T wheels chromed. I've always had a little BLING in me!

If any of you have chromes on your WRX's or have any pics of ones that do, please post them.

Thanks in advance!

CL

you are right with to each his own. If you like chrome so be it. but id do if i was you id get different rims to chrome. you could get some good money for the volks. what would upset me the most is that it was volks that got chromed.

good luck with it, Bob

I haven't seen too many WRXs with chrome wheels. What I did see, I didn't like too much. I really like your car as it is: the volks look sweet, but I understand that you need some change sometimes.

If I was you, I wouldn't dip my Volks though. Those are a good chunk of change. If you aren't happy with the results, you're in a bad, bad place. I'd get some cheapies (ROTA) and try it out. I realize that ROTA doesnt make something that looks like your Volks, but they have some pretty decent choices.

Just a thought Good luck with your decision!

No, if there will be "giving away," I definitely had an implied dibs. Yeah, definitely.

CL, nooooooooooooooooo!!!! As a fellow LE37T owner, you must not dip them in chrome! You'll make me cry! I agree...find a less expensive wheel to do it with!

I definitely wouldn't dip the LE's. However if you are just messing around testing things out to see how you would like it, you could prolly pick up a new set of Rota actions, dip them and if you don't like them, have no problems selling them seeing how new they are.

Please do not dip the Volks. Dip some other wheel, or just get some bling-blingin dubs.

I'll trade you my P1s and tires for your Volks. You'll have more "blings" with the 10 spokes when you chrome them.

Arrow Don't Hurt Me!

Okay, I've thought it over a bit, and I think if I do have some wheels chromed, I'll get some less expensive ones first and leave my LE-37's gunmetal/polished. I've really been wanting to do something to change the look of my WRX ($hort of getting a cu$tom paint job), since I'm getting kinda tired of seeing so many blue WRX's around. No offense, but I like to be different sometimes, and that's especially hard to do when it comes to having a WRB WRX; I already have a semi-twin on here....VERDUGO!? j/k

Anyhow, besides the fact that more than a few members and my buddies have "threatened" bodily injury to me if I ruined my VOLKS, it'd be good to be able to switch it up now and then w/a different set of wheels. I'll probably try to find a set of 5zigen Buddy Clubs or another relatively inexpensive but nice wheel. Now, I just need to find some $$$!

"Fortunately," my car modding funds are not that plentiful right now, or else I'd be rolling on BLINGS in no time! Well, that and I was feeling a little weird about chroming LE-37's, which are limited edition wheels already. If I had the solid colored TE's, I'd probably feel less guilty. I've just been wanting

Well, I wasn't able to find any pics of chrome wheels on WRX's, but here's a couple of chrome TE-37 pics I got off Honda-Tech.com Whatd'ya guys think?

I think the fact that you are cruising on Limited Edition Volks already means you are Bling Blingin, and chroming them would actually depreciate their value. Who would really buy chromed Volks off you if you decided to sell them? Not at a good price anyway. If you like it though then thats all that matters.

I'm not feelin' the bling on that yo!

Actually if you want some semi-bling...get some Volk GT-Ps in diamond cut silver...I've got a pic of a Garage SPL car with them on...they're not chrome, but VERY bling! I'll post it here when I get home from work...

Arrow Tempting....

Hmm, I guess I'm still a bit of a brat....the more I hear people telling me not to go chrome makes me want to do it!

I'm gonna have to look into this a little more. Only thing is that I think a QUALITY triple-nickel chrome job w/ALL the surfaces (except the inner well & lips) is going to be as much as buying a cheap set of wheels. We'll see....

btw, if you think this whim of mine is crazy, I almost bought a set of triple gold Daytons from my buddy for my old Integra waaaay back in the day. That car did 14's w/just a header, intake, & exhaust too. Only thing that stopped me was my ex-g-friend (threatened to kick my car if I did it!

Peace

Shiny looks best with dark colors like black or SRP. I don't think chrome will look as good with WRB. Here are polished Blitz wheels:

Thanks for the input, PPower. No offense, but I think I hear the sirens of the NASIOC "fashion police" lurking in the distance....polished wheels, Altezzas, AND graphics?! Man, I thought some of my ideas were out there!

Peace
