Default my first lancer experience

I dropped off the wrx today to get the busted windshield to get replaced and I decided to walk over to the mitsu dealership. Suprisingly they had 3 evo VIII's. I have to say that I was very impressed. The brembo brakes, the recaro seats, the stock 17's, the fmic,...they even got a cooler momo steering wheel. This makes me even more anxious for the STI. After it was all said and done, I was still excited to get back in the wrx.

I sat in an Evo recently. I really like the seat. Fit like a glove. Comfortable. Excellent lateral support.

Complaints about the interior I don't understand. Sure, it isn't a MB interior, but why does it matter? Guess I've driven Cavaliers for too long.

Have you sat in the 04 WRXs? They are pretty comfortable.

My friend has EDM STi seats which IMO felt better than the EVO's recaros.

The SRT-4's seats are more comfortable....seriously. It has lumbar support.

Not been near one yet. Going to the Mitsu dealer was on a whim, since I was driving by it (only a few miles from where I live). The nearest Subie dealer is in another state, about 1/2 hour drive away. Maybe some day I'll get to sit in one. But how much lateral support does the seat offer? The seat in the Mitsu should be great for doing autocross.

Umm no, the seats from the European WRXs are different from the seats in the Japanese ones. They are similar to the seats of the 04's in America.

criminey,

USDM
EDM
JDM

are all just relative terms denoting the market that the car is actually intended to be sold in. Nothing to do with where it was made. Example: Impreza built in Japan for the world market.

no prob

Yes back when auto makers didn't invest in other international auto makers. GM owning 20% of Subaru's parent company.

Or have an American design a German car, and vice versa.

Or Japanese car rebadged as a US make in India. Chevrolet Forester

Or share platforms. Pontiac Vibe / Toyota Matrix

Or have import parts in domestic cars. Mazda engines in Fords.

And so on...

Yes it was simpler.

I got to ride in an Evolution about a month ago. A friend of mine works for mitsu and had a test car. Very cool, very smooth, very fast. Turbo lag is minimal. It's suspension is pretty stiff for a stock setup. I thought the seats were decent as well. I'm not sure it would make the most comfortable daily driver, but then, that wouldn't be why you would buy this car in the first place. Looks good in person too.

yeah halfbaked... that was a pretty stupid thing to say. if that were true you wouldn't have people spending thousands of dollars on their japanese imports to make them "JDM". the nationality of a company has nothing to do with the market they are being sold in. hence, my subaru is a USDM- made to be sold in the US. thats why a true JDM car with be RHD.

I like the new Evo, minus the tail lights, and vast expanse of plastic on the dash.
