I would have liked to see more silver pics. I think the silver wheels are great for those looking for a low key look. The black STi is perfect...but I can't bring myself to care for a black car.

but if the only interior availale is the classic 2-tone blue....

I don't think white looks good with blue interior, it will look akward and the same thing with the silver. The black one might look nice with the blue interior. But definitely ONLY the BLUE STi looks best with the matching blue interior.

White is as neutral as it gets. You have a point with silver, though.

yes the white's do look amazing...but when i saw them today in person they didnt look as impressive, the silver with silver rims though did look much better in person...
in my opinion though you could never go "wrong" with blue and gold...tradition...plus its not like everybody will have this car anyways...
but any way you look at it...whatever color you get is sweet just because you have the STi...

I could never bring myself to care for any color car, mostly due to the driving part! I wash them now and again, but honestly cannot remember the last car I waxed. It would be nice to see the black WRX STi with the "gunmetal" wheels at a few different angles. I currently have a silver WRX, so the "look" isn't much different on the silver STi. The black one however makes all of the lines disappear, making it look much different [IMO] than the others. So, it'll get washed 3 more times than usual...No biggie!

it's not the washing that's a problem for me...it's the swirls

i think silver wheels should have just come on the silver car. White, blue, and black all look great with gold. The white car looks soo.... blah... without the gold wheels.

Nah! The gold wheels do look excellent on the black car, but if one wants to go for a more subdued look the gold is too loud. You'll have to clean them more often, unlike the silver wheels, which once dirty will actually be "gunmetal".
Swirls will only be a problem on the black car if you apply pressure to surface of the paint either drying it with a dirty mitt or towel, or rag, or hand-waxing it.

I've yet to see a black car without swirls that's more than 6 months old without major detailing.

Over the years, I've owned three black cars, and from personal experience I'd have to agree with your statement. In fact, I will resist the urge to own a fourth for that reason.
