My Car got totalled, and i'm lookin at an impreza!!

prolly gonna get the 2.5RS coupe.. juss wanna know what i should be looking for when i go to pick it up. i'm lookin at a 1998-2000 from a dealer.

are there any recalls? problems or anything that i should knwo about?

no recalls...but i think that i read something about my99 having an bad o2 sensor...they said the sensor just died if you had an intake...or something like that

<FONT face="Comic Sans MS">Speaking from experience, some of the 2000 and 2001 manual tranny cars have a problem with one of the nuts on the gear rail. It becomes loose from a poor 'stamping' that 'locks' the nut on, and your car will pop out of 5th gear. It's a known problem that they have a TSB for, and it's fixed under warranty. I needed a new clutch fork, 5th gear, and 5th gear synchro by the time it was tracked down... other than the O2 sensor problem on the 99's and the weak MAF on the 99 (the 99's MAF is NOT fond of intakes) and my little tranny problem, nothing I've heard of to worry about. Just enjoy the car once you get it... drive it like you hate it- they love it!

Gotta say, look for a 2000-01, since you won't have the MAF to deal with on the intake, and you'll have more options for an aftermarket intake. If you have a 1999 od older, you have to deal with that weak MAF sensor. That, and the 2000 were the first year that they put the LSD in the rear standard. Great car, you'll love it.
