Default dumbest 2.5RS question ever...

I swear I'm not incompetent or anything, I'm fairly mechanically inclined and pretty good with cars, bikes, whatever. BUT...

...on a stock 2000 2.5RS CD player, is there any damn way to TURN OFF the CD player with a CD still in it? All I can do is play or pause...it doesn't shut off unless I remove the CD. Is that normal? Is mine broke? Am I a total tard?

I think that's how it's supposed to be. Just leave it paused. I never take the cd out unless I put a different one in, so mine is always left on paused when I'm listening to the radio or not listening to anything.

Yeah, I know you can turn off the whole system (radio AND CD) but it seems like the CD player has to be paused if you want to listen to the radio, unless you take the CD out. Maybe that's just how it's made.

Dude your not alone. I asked the same question when I first got my RS. I found out you can't completly turn it off, just have to pause the CD.

The pause button is kinda like the off button. If you listen closely, the CD stops spinning when the pause button is pushed. I think the screen just stays lit to let you know that there's still a CD in there. That's my best guess.

Bingo. The CD isn;t still in there spinning like most house stereo pause buttons. That's why when you un pause it, it takes a couple seconds to start again
