Default Trade: virgin 02/03 impreza headlights for my black headlights?

i have my headlights with 'blacked out' paint mod that i'm looking to trade for virgin 02/03 headlights. i sanded, used high temp flat black paint on the inside, sealed with oe glue and silicon and reheated. i have had them back on the car for over a month with no leaks or anything, and they look great. pics here:

http://tobey457.netfirms.com/drop.htm

also: i can remove the orange cover before the trade if you would like.

i am looking for a prefect set of headlights that have not had anything (like wax or anything or the sort) applied to them. must be perfect with an cracks or pits (as mine are in perfect shape) and $30(to cover materials and 3 hours of labor. i am in dover nh (next to portsmouth) and i would request that the purchaser pick them up (we can do the swap here in under a half hour).

i am looking to trade because i want to do something a little different when i get the new ones. i am still going to break them open and paint them, but i am trying a different color.

pm me or email me here tobey457@attbi.com

thanks~

Why don't you just repaint yours? Also did I notice that you did not remove the orange thingy while you had them apart? Just curious but isnt that most of the idea of taking them apart? CHRIS...

i kept the orange thing in because i didn't like all the holes left behind from where the orange cover plugged in. a lot of people just drill and bust those covers out with a screwdriver so if the end buyer doesn't like it, i'm sure it could be removed easily.

i am going to try a smoked chrome look, and i already sanded down the chrome on mine. so i kinda need some new lights to try this on.

Q
hows the front lip doing?

i can't really crack them open again, i figure with the silicone already in there, it might make a real mess trying to re-open them. let me know if you are still interested.

Josh just pm'ed you, you are first on the list.

The lip is doing great, looks killer

i am gonna post pics soon. A few nesic members saw it at the NER event sunday 27th.

i have to think about it, cause i would have to reopen them to remove the orange "condom" anyway, so it is kinda of a waste of time.

thanks

Q
i know a lot of people just drill the cover and then break it out with a pair of pliers. sounds grosss but it works without cracking them open, and it wouldn't leave marks.

let me know.

i think i'll just mod the ones i have to since i already did the mod once and it wasn't so bad, just time consuming.

good deal tho.

TTT, some newbies have to be interested in this...

That sounds really cool, love to see a pic when u are done. I saw a guy from Vermont who smoked the inside of the actual LENS. Yes the whole lens,it looked amazing. He said there was barely any light loss but I find that hard to believe,CHRIS......

If the lens was put back on with silicone, it's not coming off...not without a ton of work and it will be a mess. As for $30 for materials and labor, no comment.

are you saying $30 is a bad price? the sealant, sandpaper, thinner and hi temp paint was close to $20

it looks as though these are spoken for, i will update if it falls through. thanks~

email me at tobey457@attbi.com or pm me. thanks!
