Unhappy Power loss in 3rd gear

Anyone here experience a power loss in third gear? I mainly get it when I shift from 2nd at high rpm. I'm losing about 2500 rpm from 2nd to third. Can someone tell me why?

Huh???

Your rpms are decreasing when you shift gears? Uh....Thats just normal and has nothing to do with power. Everytime you shift the tach should "fall" to a lower engine speed. How much depends on the rpm before the shift and the gear ratios.

Yeah, you guys misunderstand. What I mean is that when I shift into third, I lose a lot of RPM. EX. Throttle up in 1st, shift at 5500, RPMs go to 4000. Throttle up in 2nd, shift at 5500, RPMs go to 4000. Throttle up in 3rd, shift at 5500, RPMs go to 2500. I know that I'm supposed to lose RPMs when I shift, I'm just losing more in 3rd gear than any other gear, even 4th and 5th. I hope this explains it a little better.

Have a Nice Day?

The only thing that could be is something in the tranny/gearing. It sounds like the engine is fine for the 1st 2 gears. And you said that the plugs looked good when they were checked.

You might try doing an ECU reset. Unplug the battery for 30-45 minutes; plug back in and let car warm up @ idle. Dont press the gas in. After its warmed up (fan comes on) do some spirited driving. It may be that the ECU is doing some retarding at those speeds.

Check your PMs.
