Cobb CAI, Borla Header, Borla mild cams, Random Tech Cat, Cobb mid pipe and exhaust. ProEcm (Does that effect anything emission wise?)

I thought as long as any codes didn't come up via OBD-2 you didn't have to do much of anything else as far as testing.

I took D.AR.E.'s advice and got tested at a friendly shop. Started off not so good but once I got the engine nice and hot, I passed with no problems!!! I guess I'll run it for an hour before I get tested (in 2006)

You just described the reason for the up-pipe cat.

i have another question regarding emissions in washington but didn't wanna make a whole new thread for it so here it is:.

would it be worth it forking over a few hundred dollars more for a highflow cat in the exhaust system?
Would you beable to pass emissions at a "standard" testing place? Or would you still have to swap it out for the stock.

I ask this because whats the point of buying a d/p with a cat in it when you could go completely catless and make more power but still go through the same hassle of switching downpipes for each year? Is it because people don't want to pollute the air?

If I remember correctly, Island county does not require emission testing periodically. Isn't it the three main counties, I.E. King, Pierce and Snohomish that require 5 year emission testing. If I am correct, mod away with no worries Erik. That is until you transfer back to N. Carolina

Oh, BTW, did you see me in my new ride today? I was hanging out the window rollin down Midway around 2 pm today.

Let's just say I am still part of the Subaru community. I have been doing alot of soul searching lately, and I know this was the right thing to do. I needed to do this for awhile, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it till now. Let's jsut say I overcame those fears and jumped into the idea. Hey, It's all good right.

WA doesn't require emissions testing on vehicles until they're 5 years old (or older) so you won't have to worry about it until 2006/7 (depending on when you bought it I guess), then you test every other year after that.
