Corbeau CR1
Well my seat is in ( I have a MY00 RS coupe for those that are interested)...Man that thing is comfy and badarse....ok..first things first Tho... I am 6 ft 3 and 245lbs.... I ordered the seat with a impreza rail...got it UPS this morning...No problems....opened the box found the rail no problem...got the seat out of the box...no problem...then I noticed something...its a passenger side....I like "Now I know theres a left side and ride side of these things..."...so I called Corbeau...they said "Well we can't sell just the Drivers side seat alone because we would have to many passengers sides left in stock"...I am like "really"....hmmm ...Will the passenger side work on the drivers side then for the time being...he saids " It should."..( I know, pretty cheezy reason if you asked me...but being in the business, I can understand)..then I confirmed that I could order the drivers side when I get some more fundage ...and he said shouldn't be a problem...OK...Cool.. since I was going to get both sides anyways no biggy....so I split the plastic off the seat....and bolted the rail up to it....guess what...it fit... next thing was to unbolt my seat...no problem... a 14mm socket and 4 bolts later, my seat is out.....I put the Corbeau in...Bolted it all up....No problems....Fits Perfect...the only problem is...where the heck am I going to mount the stock Seat belt end...since it is bolted to the stock seat frame rail....I will figure something out.... Initial impression...Made well/Strong...fits nice..... First Carcus sitting...OH MAN..these things ROCK...holds my big butt in really good...with the memory foam...these things are Sueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet... The seat sits way lower than stock...by like 4 inches....so PLENTY of head room......had to adjust my steering wheel accordingly...also a total different driving position now....If I put my arm on the window it kinda feels like I am in an old 57 Chevy or something...because the freeboard is greater now to get to the window....No biggie..I will get used to that...but I am REALLY happy how these things fit me...especially since I am sorta a big dude.....no pinching anywhere....a WHOLE LOT more support side to side... AND they hold you in when cornering hard...more when I get home and drive in them a few more miles.... I will also take some pics with them in the car also... Price: $399 Widebody model: add $75 Rail: $85 Thanks Bill

So is this a new model for Corbeau? I'm guessing it is, since I haven't heard of it before and I used to pay pretty close attention to their site. But it HAS been a while!
![]() I previously was eyeing the Targa RS model for my old Integra, as well as the Impreza, but... this new one looks better! I don't think I'd need the wider one, being 5'11" and about 190, so that would save a few bucks. Anyone know if Corbeau can do partial leather on their seats, these days? I've got grey leather in my OEM interior so I'd need to match it at least a little... Lately I've been shopping Cobra and Recaro for my RS, but of course they're quite a bit more expensive, about $5-600 for the cheaper ones I can find... and that's cloth, never mind leather! (That runs about $500/each seat for those brands. )A lower-sitting seat in the RS seems good to me, since the OEM seats feel like bench seating at a ballpark. ![]() -S2- |

four months later, how's the seat holding up? Is the cushioning flattening out or is the fabric wearing much? Did you ever fix the seatbelt? My main concern w/ Corbeau is how long it will hold up seeing as its 1/4 to 1/2 as much as some competitors' seats.

Hmm I know some of the new Corbeaus are more expensive, but they're still quite a bit cheaper than comparable ones from Sparco and Recaro, I think...

5 month update....still looking good....still comfy...seat belts are good, I extended the metal to the seatbelt end by like 4 inches..put grade 8 bolts in....then blacktaped it so it doesn't snag on the seat.......no visable wear on the fabric......I am happy...
