Default WRX: Upgrading Wheels and tires opinions/suggestions?

Trying to figure out what kind of wheels and tires I should get, trying to keep the cost under $1200. looking for a good solid wheel/tire combo 17 inch or so, maybe 18". emphasis on airflow through the wheel to the caliper and rotors, footprint and roadholding ability. Thanks very much!
Eq.

Default Do what I'm doing

You're going to want to go with Rota Attacks 17" 5 spoke wheels. Only 16 pounds per rim. You can get those for around $550. Then wrap them in a set of Yokohama AVS ES 100's (225/45-17). You should be able to easily meet your budget.
