Default Prodrive vs. Rota

I am torn between 2 sets of rims one being a lightweight racing rim which is Rota and the other being a Prodrive which is a little heavier street rim. The Rota is about 14lbs whereas the Prodrive is about 17lbs. I am curious to see and check out the durability of Rota. I know its a lightweight racing rim so is it suggested in CT? I like the Rota's cause they look pretty good and they are cheap and light but on the other hand I like the Prodrives because they are a better looking wheel.

Also does anyone know where I can find Prodrive wheels specifically the P1's in that acrhite* color? (cheapest place)

Go out and buy 6 of the rotas if you are racing.(2 just incase you brake some) If you want the *bling* go with the prodrives but that is alot of money just for some bling.

Have a Nice Day?

Prodrive > ROTA.

What Rota's weigh 14lbs? I have 18" prodrives that weigh 15lbs. Save your money and buy rims that will not break.

Just remember, you get what you pay for. Cheaper wheels = less durable.

I've had Rota tarmac's for a year and they are holding up fine, they have been out in the desert, logging roads, cities and everywher in between. Granted ,they are Prodrive copies and I would love real P1's, but I like to spread my $ around...

It depends on your priorities. Something like wheels seem to be fairly important so I decided to go spend the money and not go cheap. And I love my Prodrives so much. They so pretty.

Have you checked Tire Rack? They did have some on clearance. (which is where/how I got mine)

I also noticed Kastles Korner started selling Prodrive wheels, although I can't vouch for the pricing.

Even though Prodrive P1s > Rota Tarmacs,

Prodrive P1s < or = Rota Tarmacs + Cobb AccessECU

The Tire Rack's website shows no more P1's in any size. They are no longer a distributer.

Prodrive-usa seems to have taken over and has a website up if you are interested - but they do not sell directly. You can contact them for a list of dealers. They pointed me to these three:

www.spimotorsports.com
www.subaruofgwinett.com
www.mastrosubaru.com

Last I checked there was somewhat consistant pricing:
17" ~250 ea and 18" ~$320 ea (plus shipping of course).

Good luck - they are nice looking wheels.
