Wha't's a EJ25 worth after doing an EJ20 swap???

I'm hoping to do an EJ20 swap into my '01 RS and wanted to see what other people think a FAIR value for a complete EJ25 motor.

I'd like to see if I can re-coop some of the swap cost anyway I can.

How many miles does it have, condition? I think I've seen them go for $800 ish.

Traitor...traitor??? I could just go full bore ship jumper and get a new new age WRX JC.

We'll see who's callin' who a traitor if/when I move back to A2 and you want to drive a "real" GC8.

PS - The motor would have about 80k on it, never beat on and full synthetic every 4k since the 1st oil change.

There's one on Ebay right now with a tranny at $355. There's over 3 days to go though and it's got 80K miles.

why dont you get the STi 2.5....or will that be to much power for the tranny

Probably because the WRX 2.0 with 10k miles can be had for 3500+ complete while the STI is probably going to be 12k

Ive seen WRX engines going for 1000-1500 now... So an EJ25 is definatly under $1k, excluding tranny in both cases.

80k miles? I wouldnt pay more than $500 for the engine, thats a hellavalot of miles for a 2001!!!

300-600. Mine wasn't a full long block but I got 600.

Heads:300
Block: 100
Cams: 200

and my block only had 35k

ps. talk to "muffin" about the sti block...there is some intresting local word on the street. I'd Highly suggest you talk to the one who is always in shorts

It will command a premium, sure, but the price will drop soon enough.
