There is no part number for a complete engine... each head, the block, alternator, yadda yadda yadda, has it's own part number (none of which I have I'm afraid). What I do have is here:

If you're really interested in a brand new engine, call TRi Tuning.

Last I remember Chris quoted $8k for a brand new STi-tuned EJ20T (that's the 280hp one). I'm sure he has enough sources to find you a used one for significantly cheaper.

Well the reason why I am asking this is b/c I was at the Performance Subaru in Chapel Hill getting an estimate done on my car(ex girl kicked a dent in it 830.00 worth of damage). I was talking to the Tech and the guy giving the estimate and they both said something about being able to buy a crate motor from Subaru as an option. So it made me curious to ask the qauestion and see if anyone has ran across this.

Oh and Overtime we got to meet sometime man you live close. I live off Six Forks in Raleigh.

Sorry for posting in this Newbie section.

Hey Chris,

Definitely! My car's heading to the shop soon, I hope, for repairs to the rear mostly (though the front has a bump in it) from an accident I was in last Thursday.

My reccomendation would be to call Rallispec (www.rallispec.com), CTC Motorsports (www.ctcmotorsports.com), or TRi Tuning (1-877-9TUNING). All of these shops have sourced engines before.

I don't know who I'd trust to do it around here, though. The dealerships break my car more often than they fix it.

Good luck with sourcing the engine and sorry to hear about the girlfriend/damage.

As far as I know you cant order a complete engine with one number.

Only a short block...

You still need to order all the ancillary parts too.
