Default Cams: Cobb mild vs JA vs TWE

There have been a few posts about Cobb and JA cams, less on TWE.

Thread on Cobb

Cobb dyno

Thread for JA

The JA dyno is tough to make out, and I haven't checked on the Cobb one, so it's hard to make a comparison. Anybody seen 0-60 or quarter mile times on these, before/after? Also any info on TWE? More aggressive than Cobb, and JA? How about CELs, especially in winter, on any of these?

Jim

I'm considering cams again, so thought I'd bump this up, maybe someone with aftermarket cams might see it this time around. I'm especially interested in the TWE cams, since they are local.

If you research you will find a couple fairly heated threads on this subject in the last few months. One thread will be about TWE vs. Cobb. Another is about 1/4 times and a testimonial posted on TWE's site. I would link them for you but I have been without the interet for a few weeks and am playing catch up on my personal reading...

A couple more thoughts... Waiting list for Cob was three months when I ordered mine. They will be ready shortly, but I am doing complete heads, not just cams so that was part of it. But the cams still stock out frequently since they do them in small batches. be sure to order in advance of need...

Also, since TWE is local it would be a no brainer for me. Go to TWE for your parts and build needs. I am likely having them buid my EJ22 for me since Cobb doesn't real deal with those engines. BUt TWE is totally willing to take on the project, so I will be shipping my Legacy engine to them once the RS is back on the road...

Many of the companies have a core charge and you return them your orignal cams once installed. TWE was not stocking cores last time I looked, so you need to send them yours. But contact them as that may have changed. IF you don't have to send your cams until after you have the replacements, the car will be down one day if a shop does it and maybe a weekend if it is a DIY install.

BTW, for folks in the states, TWE has opened Rallitek as a dealer so you dont need to hassle with customs and taxes...
