Default Wrx drivetrain swap in to 96 legacy

Hi all, i'm wondering if the usdm wrx 5mt transmission will bolt right into a 96 legacy? Yeah, i know i need the pedals and all that, but what i need to know is if the mounting points are the same for the transmission or if i'll need to fabricate a mount?
What about the rear axle spline/driveshaft and the front axle splines-do they slip on or do i need to get new axles? If i decide to keep the 96 speedo will it work or not with the 02 trans?
What's the best way to get the car wired properly for the 2.0 motor using the wrx computer? I've read several different ways from splicing the two harnesses together to completely removing one and dropping in the other. Any suggestions? Yeah, i know the wiring's going to be a pita but i want to do it right the first time.
Thanks
Brent
