Default Post your single DIN deck install's please.

I am on the waiting list for the STi and as you well know, the radio is an option. I will be going with an Alpine MP3 player and want to see some clean deck installs. I just want to get a good visual idea what installation kits everyone uses in the WRX's to mount single DIN decks.

You won't really need an install kit. Just something to block off the extra din space. Forester pockets (silver w/ a door) seem to be pretty popular.

I've got a piece of aluminum laminate that I'm gonna trim to fit. Pics as soon as I build it.

Installation was a snap. Screwed right into the factory mounting brackets, and a Metra harness made the wiring simple. It was the Forester DIN pocket that required a little custom work (but that is the topic of another thread...)

Got my setup working, but not totally pretty yet.

Sorry about the glare, I took it quick before work and didn't have time to learn the macro mode on the camera or mess with the light.

The DIN pocket opens right? They just purchased right from the dealer?

BTW...they all look nice and clean.

Metra harness # 70-8901, purchased from PartsExpress. But you can probably get it at any decent local car stereo shop that does installs....

See if this link works for you:
