Welp, finally got all my bits together and actually put together!
What I have is a mildsteel Stromung midpipe (2.25) non resonated, a 2.25 muffler shop bent pipe (between muffler and midpipe), and a Spintech dual outlet muffler... and let me just say.. ! It has a good rally look to it, and sounds just like i want it too.. like a boxer engine. Honestly, this is the deepest sounding exhaust i have EVER heard on a Subaru, minus header backs that is. I used to have an Apex n1, which sounded good, but not anywhere close to this. Anyways, if you want all the details, not that there is too many, pm me. For now, here are some pics... OH, and i have a 10-13 sec video clip of a startup, if someone wants to host it, that would be great ! ![]()

In due time my friend, in due time
But seriously, One thing I dont remember my apex doing, was this... When leaving say, a stoplight, driving normal, it's uh, loud.. very bassy. Also, when down gearing and letting then engine slow me down, it's VERY loud. But here's the deal, at wot..it's not loud, just good sounding, but not loud at all. Why is this?! I do not remember that my Apex n1 was like this, it was just the oposite! Oh well, sounds too good to whine about it! ![]() |

Ahh
, looks nice man. Looks like you got that after I posted it a while ago. I just bought a used Stromung MS dual tip muffler and I am planning to get the Spintech muffler too, but in the single inlet/outlet setup. The way that the Spintech muffler works is that it "spins" the gasses out the outlet creating a vaccuum sucking out the spent gas, which inturn also cancels out the noise. The six circles that you see on the body of the muffler is basically what is inside the muffler. Kinda like a Flowmaster muffler but set up different internally. I'm glad to see and now hear what that muffler looks and sounds on the car. VERY NICE. CJ Last edited by K Rock Impreza; 05-07-2003 at 01:42 AM. |

actually, about the noise... ahem.. in person, and believe me, it is quite loud...trust me. When i get someone to host.. say a few clips, instead of just one, I'll have a much better example.

I was just stating what the website was explaining. I personally never heard one, now I want one, and I will get one.
![]() My rusted Stromung, now spray painted with hightemp low gloss, looks like a Brullen axle-back. CJ |

Update: kinda..
Now that the ecu has evidently done it's thing, whatever that may be, I can tell an enormus difference between this setup and the Apex N1. When i had the apex, that was my only mod, and power didnt increase hardly at all. Now, I already had a ganz, lightened pulley and grounding mod ( ). The way I see it, either the mods combined as a whole work together to make more power per mod, OR the custom setup is just that much better that the Apex was. Who knows.. either way, when up shifting, the car lunges forward into the next gear, instead of just continuing to pull. 2nd gear seems even faster than 1st in terms of pulling now. I havent seen what the topend is now, I dont like to do that too much if you get my drift. |
