Default 4th gear getting weak?

hello all. ive noticed lately that my 4th gear, especially after 5500 at WOT is sounding and feeling not as quick as it was. every other gear feels fine, but they go buy so quick, but since 4th is such a long gear, i notice that it isnt as fast..maybe not getting enough fuel?

i have... Injen CAI, APex n1 cat-back exhaust, borla header, rallispec fast road cams, uo pulleys, magnecore sparks/wires. (newest mod...last week was borla header...made the car faster)

my car is at hmm... 62000 miles. the timing belt has not been changed. i just installed the borla header and my car actually feels faster, but it is in the back of my head that my car could be faster than it actually is right now. is there a specific reason for this? or am i just paranoid of my car being slower?

Im not sure, could be ecu, getting used to headers.. maybe your clutch? well, i doubt it, since you said it does it at around 5500..

I have a 99 RS and I swear my 4th gear is messed up too. When I am driving normally it is fine, but when I drive hard and shift at high RPM it grinds everytime. Not sure what the problem is?

I think that is common in almost everyone's car and it seems to get worse if you use syn. oil, check out the tranny forum I think there is a sticky about it.
