Lightbulb what do i need 2 do to beat a ser w/det?

what do i need to do to beat a sentra with a sr20det swap and a t28 ball bearing turbo upgrade ?? our rivalry is growing everyday and i want to put him down asap. i have a 03 wrx stock . does anyone have any sugestions to what type of modding path i should take ? like a step by step approach ? ..specificly like what brand intake or exhaust blah blah ..... let me know guys i want this nissan to go down . Im not underestimating him because ive seen him run 14 flat before the turbo upgrade and bigger exhaust ...

I hope your not talking about street racing. Its frowned at on these boards. None the less vr4 = awd. AWD racing from a roll = at a disadvantage. If you feel the need for speed on the streets... A turbo txs stage 3 should get ya ahead in the end. Just make sure that you do all this stuff in a safe place away from others.

All you really should need is a turbo back, uppipe and a boost controler if your a decient driver. But I would suggest you look into a intercooler, intake and utec also.

If you buy from the link below and get a utec. You can have on the better known chicagoland/nasioc tuners help tune your car into a beast.

The 3000GT VR4 might be powerful, but it is heavy.

To be honest dude, I love my WRX but I am a bigger NISMO freak. My Altima and myself will be rooting for your competitor
What year Sentra does he have? The Sentra SER and the Infiniti G20 came with the SR20DE motor. The only thing you need to do is add the turbo. Keep us posted of your legal race at the track.

Thumbs up $1500 for low 13's

Get the Cobb AccessECU($400) and a Turbo back($1100) and you have 280-285hp (220-225whp) that should get you into the low 13's.

Well, that's one of your problems right there. WRX usually only has the advantage off the line. When it comes to highway, the taller gearing really leaves something to be desired.

3000gt VR4 are heavy cars but once they get going, like on the highway, they can pull away pretty good. Ask me how I know.

So he took out the SR20DE engine in his B-13 Sentra and put in a KA24DE (<2002) or QR25DE (2002+) engine? Or did he pull the motor from a Bluebird? The Altima never saw the SR20DE motor from the factory. The Sentra, 200SX, G20 and the NX200 have had the SR motor.

TXS turbo back

TXS TMIC

Turn up the boost to about 16psi

That should give you the ability to run about a 13.5-13.7 sec. 1/4 mile. (results are average not guarenteed, due to driver error)

If you get the launch right he'll be playing catch-up all the way till the end. Just don' try for a flying mile cause he'll run you down like the wind.

Arrgh, original SE-Rs rule. I'm still waiting for my dad to sell his.

I was going to ask about the "Altima motor" thing, but that was already settled.

thanks for your interest . It looks like the showdown will be going down late june . My money situation has been really tight (going with the 0% for 2 years of payments ) so far my car is completely stock but i have an intake and catback ready to be bolted on . im also going to order an up-pipe and but on a boostcontoller . Im just hoping to launch on him and have him play catch up . I honestly think that he is going to have a hell of a time hooking up at the tree pushing the amount of horses that he has . Last summer he was pushing 235 to the wheels put now he has a turbo upgrade and a nicer setup . Ill keep you guys posted . I told my buddy that i will have an advantage because of 3 letters " A W D"

he can't push more than 347 hp. with out upgrading the mafs to 300zx tt mafs or change it to speed density you should be able to beat it with little mods. sr20det's arn't fast stock they run 15's and his is front wheel drive with a bluebird engine. My friend has a 91 240sx with a ka25 fully built to the hilt with a t4 and he can't beat my stage 4 with a vf22 he has over 15k in the engine fully ported and polished custom turbo cams, ceramic coated pistons, blue printed and balanced and he can't beat the wrx it's funny too I think. Take the cats off get a utec and put your car on the bottle for just one race to shut him up you'll run 12's, but I'd take the bottle off after that so you don't do damge to the engine. He wouldn't know what hit him.

14 flat is FAR from fast.
FYI, with a $5 MBC(manual boost controller) you should KILL him.
a WRX with nothing other than a drop in K&N (which give 0hp) and an MBC is running 13.5 all day long up here. and many others are doing the same.

It's 14 flat BEFORE the turbo upgrade and other mods people!

I would bet that he will run very low 13's and that your wrx is going to get spanked.

a t28 isn't a big turbo I would think you would beable to beat him it's front wheel drive more power equals less traction so thats more of a advantage you can get from the line. I wouldn't even believe that car would run a 14 flat until I saw it did you see it at the track actually run that? I've never seen a 240 with a sr20det break into the 14's that was a stock motor. Unless hes one of those kids that has that car 100% gutted with just a drivers seat in it. Then I would possibly believe it ran a 14.8

codean i bet you might be right . Im not underestimating this car at all. alot of people are to cocky on this forum . Last time i went to the strip all the wrx's i saw where hitting consistant low 14s with a bolt on here or there . Alot of people that dont even go to the track with there cars think they can run 14 flat stock just because it says that in the back of a motortrend magazine ! We all know that not everybody is a professional driver , and that not everybody is going to abuse there car (especially not a daily driver) by launching it a redline just to get a great time. Im just being honest here and all you guys out there dont tell me that you all have had perfect runs at the track even the 1st time you went !! If you say yes you are all not telling the truth ! come on like you never went over the lights and had to line up again or ever bogg the crap out of your car and run a crappy time .

Read around on these boards before you go throwing cash at your car. The intake might help you because it throws the MAF meter off and the car runs a little lean. Cat-back will net you 0 gains on a stock car. If you run the intake, turn up the boost and get a bad tank of gas you could have problems.

Also, for people that aren't tuners and want some SAFE relyable power the ECUtek reflash is the way to go. The LAST thing I would reccomend to someone just getting into this is a Utec.

ECUtec + Turboback + uppipe should = solid low 13's

The uppipe and downpipe are MUST DO mods. The cat-back you mentioned is only for sound/looks(might be a little weight savings).

Lots of people are geting plenty of power with the stock intake on our cars.

Everyone knows nothing is faster than an SRT-4. So sell your Scooby and buy one of those.

Thumbs down

srt 4 maybe fast but i dont think that it will be reliable at all. This new beast of a neon reminds me of a na dsm with a bolt on 16g tubo kit that is really fun to drive until it blows up or gets some type of crankwalk . I done with dsms or anything that resembles them ..And besides .... once you go AWD you dont go back! i had a gst and im not to excited about wheel hop and spin.
