Default 30000 mile service help

ok, so i am going to do the following things in about 3 hours...

Change Air Filter (K&N way too much$) which one?
change oil (no help needed there...)
flush coolant...replace with what?
change brake fluid..easiest way and what brand is best?
fuel filter....do i really need to???

Yes, replace that fuel filter.

It's cheap, very easy, and it can make a huge difference if you've run into a tank or two of bad gas along the way.

for the air filter, I would HIGHLY reccommend the green filter....I think just about every one else would as well...they work soo much better than K&N and are just a lil cheaper too. contact Lisa @ Subaru of Gwinnett...she can send ya one

be careful when replacing the fuel filter - it will spew.

PVC valve also, you are also suppose to get your injectors cleaned, and have to check for new plugs and wires

oh lord...injectors cleaned? Didn't see that in the service manual....and it said all models except turbo change plugs,turbo at 60000....figure i would just wait til i get the ngk...

So, any ideas on the brake fluid change?

And, am i missing amything else? I am fighting the urge to let the dealer do this one

I used ATE Super Blue brake fluid and am really happy with it. About $10 a liter. I noticed a firmer and much more consistent pedal. Plus it's a cool blue color, that makes it easy to tell when the old fluid is completely flushed.

Didn't see that in my service manual either....just the standard 30k stuff.

my "30,000 mi service" included:

oil change (replace with mobil 1 or redline)
brake fluid change (replace with ATE Type200 or Super Blue)
tranny and rear diff oil change (Replace with Redline)
flush coolant (replace with new coolant/water/waterwetter)
new plugs (ngk bkr7evx-11)
