Are all of these gaskets needed for an uppipe install? I would think that just the manifold->uppipe and uppipe->turbo would be needed.

Also, how are these gaskets different than the ones I can buy from my dealer.

all the gasket above is KIT when you do an uppipe install... it would be ideal to use all of them.

from the pix above you can see that these gaskets are quite a bit thicker than the OEM ones. its to give a little room for error for using aftermarket pipes. crush type washers (oem ones) even fail on stock pipes.

When you do the uppipe install, you have to disassemble the turbo to downpipe in order to get to the bolts to remove the uppipe from the turbo. In addition, you need to remove the manifold to engine and manifold to crosspipe in order for the uppipe to drop down away from the turbo. Hence, it is recommended that you replace all of these gaskets.

The difference between these gaskets and the ones you buy from the dealer (OEM) is in the materal. Instead of 3 thin sheets of metal with a small crush ring for sealing, these gaskets use a material specifically design for sealing in high temperature and high pressure environments. The NHRA Pioneer Avenger Drag Race car used gaskets made of this material.

One area in which there is no difference with the OEM gaskets is fitment. No expense were spared to ensure that the die cuts are to the exact OEM specifications and quality control ensures that every gasket is a perfect fit!

Because of SBR binder in the gasket material, the one temporary downside is a slight burning rubber odor during the first few hours of operation. This will completely disappear so don't worry.

If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email or contact subydude!

John

It is usually not recommended to reuse gaskets because gaskets are usually cheaper to replace then the labor to reinstall with new gaskets if you run into trouble.

That said, these gaskets are "more reuseable" than the OEM metal crush gaskets because the "Recovery ASTM F36" is greater than 50%. The higher the recovery, the better the seal retention. The OEM metal crash gasket has a recovery of 0%.

Thumbs up

Just ordered mine I think I'm finally going to get an uppipe. I can't belive I've held out this long. I figure the cost of the uppipe will pay for itself in the cost to fun to drive ratio long before I have enough money to do any of the major hp upgrades.
Thanks suby_dude!
