I don't think color would affect insurance rates. To my understanding and my insurance company that is. I thought it was a long held myth. Plus it would be pretty stupid.

well in ga apparently there is, ie. a red car has a slightly higher rate b/c they are pulled over more often.

Brighter colored cars are more obvious and thus thought to be of a higher risk in speed traps (I guess?)

the question was, "What is everyone's rate increase (if applicable) with this color."

The color of the car does actually effect insurance costs. Like it was said prior, depending on state and agency.... Red is a great example because it has been proven that people that buy red sport cars ( yes as oppose to other color sports cars) tend to speed more, cause accidents more, blah blah blah.

I know many people in the insurance field that will back this up.

Some companies the color doesnt matter. Others it does.

I use USAA and have a 2003 WRB wagon. There is no difference in price for the color, but there is a $1.65/six months decrease for it being a "safe" model. My Accord enjoyed no such benefit, even with 100 less HP and no turbocharger.
