Default Sylvania Silverstars for motorcycles only?!

So I think I've decided to invest in some Silverstars, the 9003 (H4) bulb for my '00 RS. Well I was looking on the internet and the cheapest place to buy them seems to be on eBay. I've never had a problem with eBay before and was about to place a bid on a pair when I noticed that the auction said that they are "for motorcycle use only" here
Then there's these which don't say "for motorcycle use only" but the picture looks exactly the same. And I couldn't find any information on Sylvania's web site about them making Silverstars for motorcycles. So is there any difference between the two? And if there is, wouldn't the bulb #/style be different? I just want to make sure I dont get the wrong thing.... I know about the price difference, but they are different sellers. I emailed the guy with the motorcycle ones and he said that it says that right on the package. Possible wattage difference? anyone know? thanks....

I think the main issue is whether or not the bulbs have been tested by the US DOT. I know that Hella 7"/H4 reflector/bulb assemblies are US legal for motorcycles, but not for cars. In practice, it's hard to believe anyone will notice if a reflector/light is DOT approved or not.
Just curious, why the Silverstars? Aren't some of the other blue-coated bulbs cheaper?

Well I've bought the much cheaper blue coated bulbs in the past, one set lasted about 8 months, the other about a week. The cheap no names don't last, if for nothing else, the Sylvania's at least have a warranty. Could you suggest anything better which throw white light (little/no blue) and will last a while? I'm open to suggestions. I figure if they are $25 each though, they've gotta be good. You get what you pay for right?... I know know the 9003/H4 Silverstars are DOT approved.

You're right that they are a name brand and so should probably last longer. I just keep getting the feeling that they would only cost 1/2 or 1/3 as much if there wasn't this craze about white HID-style lighting. In general, I've found www.rallylights.com to have a great selection and very good prices on what they carry -- you might try asking them.
