Could you clarify? You put the stock headlights back in and reconnected the DRL's and now they don't work?

Ok. Never mind. You disabled the DRL's and your HID's won't work. You removed them and tested them on another car so you know it is not the HID's. How do you have the HID's wired? Are all of the ground wires from the ballast going directly to ground on the battery or chaises? Are you using a car harness adapter?

The resident HID guru here is mulder. If you do a search for his username here you will get a ton of info on HID's. The ground system in the WRX is not suffcient to handle the voltage load created by HID lamps. Normally all the grounds coming form the ballest are tied together and sent directly to the neg of the battery rather than being sent back into the plug in adapter which uses the stock ground system. When you said you tried the lamps in another car what kind of car was it? Another subaru or other? Also are these HID's a singel unit, with the ignitor and ballest together, or are they seperate units.

also what year do you have 02-03 or 04, I have the 04 and the connection on the actual HID light bulb I had to use the black wire for the power and the red wire for the negative, SO what i mean is that you take the Black wire which should be the neg. and plug it in the the light bulb it self, then you take the red wire and put it where the neg. touches the housing goes, I am using the stock neg power to ground them, unlike brunetmj said that you have to go directly to the battery.
