Default Rear window defrost & decals

Quick question for you....
which is the "better" place for decals (university parking sticker) ... the inside of the rear window or the outside? would the inside interfere with the rear window defrost or would that be negligible? also, in terms of removal, is it easier to remove from the outside versus inside b/c the defroster strips seem to run on the inside surface (or maybe i am blind). thanks for the help. this is on a wagon btw.

Inside front window...

I know that isnt an option..but I believe that is the best...ESPECIALLY if you have tint. If your rear windows are tinted...put NOTHING over the tint...you will regret it. Personally, outisde is better, but also more prone to theft.

Put it on the inside front cuz if its perminant (a sticker or decal) tell them you dont want it stolen or to destroy your rear defroster.

well i can put one on the outside front windshield...however the VA hospital wants their's in the back. so that would destroy the rear defroster? how exactly? the leads for the defroster are contained within that colored strip, correct?
oh, and i have no tint.

thanks.

my guess is yer parking lot is design for head-in not back-in?

if u afraid of dueling with defroster, and the sticker has to be in the back, i would make myself a little hard plastic sheet, stick your sticker on, and hook onto inside hanging with one or two small suctoncup

thats i see ppl do for their new driver sign

if its a sticker and weather proof, I think you can put it on the outside of your rear window without worries of it being stolen.
Don't put a sticker on the insode of the back window over the defroster, it could easily melt.

I think yeng has a super idea. My wife is a college professor and has a faculty sticker. We cut out a thin piece of plastic where we have a place to adhere the sticker to and the rest in the shape of a hanger that let her hang it off the rear view mirror. This avoids theft but also allows her to switch cars if she has to.

Also...its not the sticker back there...you may never need to use the defroster while its ther...its when removing the sticker there is a problem. Most parking stickers are made out of crappy decal material, and so they STICK...you will need to use a razor to remove them, and that would probalbt destroy your defroster leads.

All of the rear window defrosters that I have seen are on the inside of the window. Whenever you put something on the inside over the defroster strips, decals or tinting, you run the chance of damaging one of the strips causing that strip or more not to heat up and not to defrost the window. If I were you I would put it on the outside. If it gets stolen you can always get another one. I think you said it was for school. My wife had one for her college and I put it outside and it never got stolen. They gave her a new sticker every year anyway.
