Been going since I was 8...might be a good show this year with so many CART regulars running in the IRL.

Cant wait to hear those most famous of words at the Brickyard...
"Andretti is slowing down..."

I'll be there. This is my first time going. As a first timer, is there anything that I should be made aware of?

natedawg-If you are driving in from out of town, leave as early as possible. Traffic starts backing up as early 6-7am around the speedway and surrounding highways. Having said that just bring some patience with driving and parking and you will be good to go!

my girlfriend lives on the North East side and I'm driving down from Lafayette (50 miles) on Saturday morning.

Would it be easier to take one of the shuttle buses being offered?

More importantly though, how much beer should I bring?

Ive never taken the shuttle before but I guess I would worry about standing in long lines to catch one back to my car after the race is over. If you get an early start Sunday morning you should be OK parking. I think parking at the Coca Cola plant lots is about $10. Expect to pay about $20 or more the closer you get to the track.

As far as beer goes--its a long day and it starts early

I'll be in the first turn for the race. If anybody walks thru the lot across from the track on 16th street, look for me, I will be starting around 8am!!

I can't go to the race this year (no babysitter). But, I just got back to the office from Carburation Day. The weather was great, the crowd was full, and any time at the track is better than in the office. Especially if you happen to be a Hemelgarn sponsor and have suite passes.

Go #91.

I'll be there.(Working...he says ) Basically, I walk the pits and turn mikes on, then when it is over I go and take the mikes down. I wonder if there will be a flyover this year since we have gone to Orange(?)alert and there is upposed t be a no fly zone over the track. Seeing a B-2 coming at you down the mainstraight is pretty cool.

natedawg bring a radio and good headphones or some ear plugs. A radio scanner is also useful if you have one.

I will be rite across from the line in the paddock penthouse. I have been going since I was 8. It is a very cool experience.

^ agreed. F1 is still the best open wheel racing.

I also picked up enough CAT 5 wire to network about 10 houses. For free!

Question What did you think of the race?

What did everyone think of the race? I thought it was a pretty good show, from what I could see of it.

It was good to see Chris (a2cpc) Sunday morning. Guess he had to peel himself away from the PS2 for a while and do some actual work .

I was fortunate enough to be called in to engineer Robby McGeehee's car for the race, which was definitely cool. It wasn't cool that he got hit by little AJ and knocked out of the race, though. Still, it was fun while it lasted.

Kevin

ps - I saw the yellow wagon with F1 Rules plates yesterday on the west side, but have no idea who it was.

It was pretty good. We had seats about halfway up in turn three. The chick wiped out on the wall right in front of us. I almost fell asleep once but recovered when someone else wiped out. Glad I had the opportunity to go though.

Other than that I'm glad they let you bring your own beer because $3.50 for a can is a little high.
