Default what intake for 99 RS??

i have a 99rs i have apex N1 cat back exhaust. borla header apexsafc and i have an elbow style weapon intake. the thing i really like about my intake is at high rpms around 5500 this thing screams. its like a fog horn scares the crap out of people.. but i heard they are no good. i like the style that go into the fender well and i asume thats what you all mean by cold air intake. ive heard that the cobb is the best. but i cant find one anywhere. plus where do you get the filter that goes in line with the piping?? so anyways what is the best intake and where can you get it???

Cobb at this time doesn't make an Intake for a MY99 (It has been in development now for 2 years) but you can make your own. Injen makes one for a MY98-99 but never seen one local so I really can't comment on how loud it is.

You can pick up the tubing section for a cobb intake on that auction site real cheap right now.

I know Danzborin will disagree with me but the short ram Weapon-R with the older style filter (non-dragon) is the most enjoyable intake I've driven. Throttle response is excellent, gains are throughout the powerband, with a good flowing exhaust and esp with a UD pulley you will be very happy. Just one word of advice, make a bracket for the MAF... the provided one with the "kit" sucks donkey. BTW, the other short rams I've seen are usually smaller diamter and bend too sharply toward the TB... that IMHO is why they don't perform as well. Ganzflow/PDM/Cobb intakes work great on MAP based cars but why would you want something that restrictive if you don't have to?
