Thumbs down Zerosports wing risers SUCK(quality wise)

they look AWESOME, and they did make my car a bit more stable at 100+ MPH,
BUT
For 200+$$$ the quality on these things is absolutely HORRIFIC
One layer of EXTREMELY thin CF. Dont believe Vendors that lie and say they are CF layered over fiberglass, they arent.
The tops and bottoms are separate pieces of CF that are quite poorly glued onto the side sections, and unless you are VERY (and I was) gentle with your trunk, they crack and separate.

AND because they are from Japan, good luck getting ANY vendor to stand behind the product when they do fail.

Here is the best part, because they have a larger footprint on your trunk lid than your factory wing, when you take them off, you get to stare at the dents they left behind (because they dont follow the contour of your trunk well enough)

Sorry to hear the problems you have had with them. I was considering them, but now I may wait and get a WRC replica one.

yeah I unfortunately am probably going to buy another set and hope for the best, as I dont think anything esle will cover the dents, and they are cheaper than repairing the trunk

they are both broken. The bottoms simply separated from the sides on the one, I tried to repair it with some epoxy, then some fiberglass resin, but it didnt hold for even a day, the stress of the flexing broke the bottom of the other one. I tossed em both already.

I think that now that Kartboy has contributed to this thread, albeit with only a simple reply, he's obliged to produce some perfect-fit wing raisers for those interested in them.

Hey look at that, another product idea. Hop to it.

Default TOM!!!

Found em
Tell me where to ship em!
It REALLY should be hard for you to come up with an improved design. I mean just off the top of my head I can think of a few improvements.
Cant wait for the Kartboy wing riser prototypes to be on my trunklid
The key would be to keep them CF, of at least covered in CF, but make them stronger. The base separates off them way to easily.

Heck, even if you could just fix mine I would be SO VERY greatfull ($$$?)

email me at
tom@kartboy and i'll tell you where to ship
the ones i'd do would be all CF with some honeycomb inside for extra strength.

Tom,, coupla things,
I had the fiberglass replica version of these painted to match the car,,no problems with them.. but IMHO they were a tad tall.Maybe a somewhat shorter version also?? I was going to try and cut mine down some but there being hollow kinda nixed that so i sold them.Just a thought.
Also,, I would glady be the mid-atlantic beta tester lol

Thanks
Rudy<< loves Atomic Fireballs

I am very interested in any new products that kartboy can produce... especially these! It would be nice if they were designed to be very functional and look like they were always part of the wing assembly (OEM).
