Default Review ver 3.1 Aluminium Dead Pedal

Dear Subie Pals:

I recently purchased from Kastle's Korner , a version 3.1 aluminum dead pedal.

The package arrived in a timely fashion via USPS, and contained:
1 Aluminum Dead Pedal w/adhesive backing
2 Rubber Washers
1 Set Instructions
1 Alcohol swab

All in all a fairly comprehensive package.

The dead pedal is very nicely crafted with a brushed aluminum finish just like the clutch/brake/gas pedals. However there is one thing to note, the rubber backing of the new dead pedal does not pass through the holes to sit slightly above the metal, to create an anti-slip surface similar to the clutch/brake/gas pedals. I am thinking I can go to the hardware store and get a set of rubber feet and insert them in the holes.

The instructions were fairly simple and straight forward. However I hit a snag when I chose the optional installation. I wanted to install my new dead pedal over top of the existing one. The optional instructions say to remove the existing pedal and apply the new one with the adhesive backing strip and reinstall. The flaw in this option is, once you adhere the new dead pedal to the old one the retaining tabs do not have enough reach to hold both items on. I had to scrap the idea of using the existing pedal and just replace it with the new one.

Of course at USD 40.00, the dead pedal is outrageously over priced, but for those with car vanity, it sure do look nice. Overall I am happy with my purchase, not ecstatic but satisfied.

Now if SOA could get their act together and make one of their own.

Regards,

Default check it out

just for future reference the autospeed pedal is a perfect fit and top quality construction, and looks like it should have been on the car from the factory.
