I didn't get the code from the dealer (oops) but...

Manual Tranny
On at 1275 miles
Livermore Subaru
No code given, but told that they ordered a 'vent control solenoid' (I think - vent control something)

Sorry, not too precise there.

Edit: Well, they told me they hadn't saved the code when I was there, but just yesterday, I received a sheet with the work info on it. Code was P1443 - they called to let me know the part is in, just need to schedule a visit, now.

Angry

p1443
Today, my dealer told me that the part they ordered for me, a vent control solenoid, was not coming in because SOA says that a replacement is not needed.

Has anyone with the same code hear the same thing from their dealer?

The thing that really pisses me off is they knew about this for 3 weeks and never called to tell me that I didn't need a replacement part. It took four days of my calling before finally telling me that they never sent for a part.

SOA will definitely be hearing from me.

~700-750 p0303
~1125-1182 p0303
1329-1352 p0303

In all three incidents, the engine was started warm, and the car was parked in sunlight in warm weather (70-85 degrees)with no sensation of a misfire (the machine runs beautifully). I have always used 93-94 octane gas. The dealer will be taking it apart on 4/30 to run diagnostics unless they hear from SOA.

PLEASE, PLEASE don't don't hesitate in telling your dealer if your CEL comes on--I suspect that this is an ECM issue and will only be resolved with a replacement/reburn.

5 speed sedan
On at 1369 miles
Gas tank exactly 1/4 full, low throttle, mild turn in 2nd gear, always 93 octane
Will be going to the dealership Monday 8 am

EDIT: P1443 just like most of the rest of you. Dealer took everything apart, added 2 hose clamps, and used a lot of dielectric grease on the connector (Subaru is blaming water in the connection for most of the CEL's)

Just got mine too. 5sp, 92 octane, 2.5krpm in 3rd gear, 1032 miles. Are people resetting their own or letting the dealer do it???

* 4/27, 440 miles on, 4/29, 500 miles off
* 5-spd sedan
* Code not pulled yet. Going in on Tueseday.
* Flatirons Subaru (Boulder, CO)
* Gas cap on tight, though I unscrewed it and re-tightened.
* 1/2 tank of gas

The car seemed to run fine with the CEL on. I did re-tighten the gas cap even though I'd clicked it ~10 times when I filled it up. The light was just off when I started the car yesterday morning.

[Update] Looks like code 1443 (Vent Control Solenoid). Dealer has it right now... I'll update again once I get it back. I also gave them a printout of this entire thread.

Miles ~2100 Cruise control on. 79 mph 3200 RPM. Half tank of gas, cap tight. No noticible change in operation. It's an Hour and a half to nearest dealer. It won't be there soon. Can I get the code myself. I can't waste time for a non critical trip to the dealer.
Got a code reader 3 days after light went out no code was in the ECM. Reset engine. I have looked at a few items and everything looks good no more lights yet.

update:

when this first happened, i immidiately unscrewed the gas cap and rescrewed it back on. The CEL was on until (get this) I started to drive to my dealer this afternoon, i started it and drove a few blocks before i noticed it was off!

So, if its not on, i wont hurry to my dealer quite yet. If it comes on i'll defintley go.

* ON at 994 miles, while I was on my way to the dealer to have gauge pak installed I was on 1/4 tank of gas (first time it had gotten down to 1/4) under moderate braking straight ahead with clutch in, idle rpm.
* P1443
* Lou Fusz Subaru, St. Louis, MO
* Dealer service manager said SOA was aware of the problem and was working on a fix that would entail replacing the ECM free of charge...but the fix wasn't ready yet. The exact wording on my invoice: "Per tech line countermeasure parts are being developed." He also said that it was not harmful to the engine to continue driving it with light on.

The tech said there are still no TSB's on this--SOA hasn't even sent out shop manuals yet. My sedan does run rough and/or hesitate occasionally between 2-3k RPM, but it is intermittent. The tech did mention that the solenoid seemed inop--could this cause stumbling or hesitation?

Later that day...CEL still off but hesitation remains. Even more noticeable when turbo is spooling up between 3k and 4k RPM. Still intermittent--seems to be more noticeable under load (accel. up hill).

EDIT - Removed positive comment about mechanic at Renick Subaru, because he no longer works there.
