Default Big trip coming up

I'm gonna be moving back to Cali from NY and need to get my car serviced before I go. What would I need to have done to it before I go, or would the dealer already know what to do if I told him my situation. It's a 99 Legacy GT with 50,500 miles on it. I've had it since February 2002, and put 10,500 miles on it.

I suggest taking the spare tire out and inflating it to 60 psi (or whatever yours is rated at).

Make sure all the indicator bulbs are working.

Are the timing belts on your car 60k or 100k change period? If 60 you could do the change early?

Maybe replace the coolant and thermo.

If auto do a quick drain and fill of the fluid.

I would recommend an oil change and probably a new air filter. But if you have time go to the subaru dealer and they can tell you more then anyone here could. Other then that just make sure the tires and brakes are ok and you should be ready to go.
have fun

If you still have the owners manual, I'd suggest a look in there to see what it recommends. They have normal service intervals, and usually some kind of checklist before going on trips.

Oil change at both ends. Refill all fluids. Tire pressure, bulbs, new wiper blades. Also, take a trip to Media play and get some CD's, otherwise I personally would go insane from lack of music, but that's just me.

Have fun, I'll be making a similar drive at the end of June from Buffalo to Denver.

Yeah I got the music thing covered. I have an mp3 player with like 200 cds on 20 or so discs. And I hate the radio. But yeah I planned on the two oil changes and new wiper blades but I didn't know what else should be done so thanks for the tips and I'll try to get this thing serviced this weekend. I was really asking because I don't trust the local Subaru dealership. Any idea what a full service should cost (fluids, tires, etc)?
