Default JDM STI GC8 to US GC8

I have a complete JDM 1996 STI driving GC8 4 doors, do I need other parts to transfer the drivetrain to my 1997 Brighton 2 doors?

thanks

Time and desire? The more car the better... and, well, it looks like you got the whole car. Is this the red wagon from AZ or a different one?

Is it worthy, or just transfer all the parts from my wreck 2000 RS, the car is at FL. What about the one from AZ, how much do they want? the FL one is 8,500 .

The one in AZ is an STi wagon. IIRC, it's a V2 or V3.

It's also $8500.

houston1: So I take it you have the complete JDM car in tack? And you want to put everything off that frame and onto your wrecked RS??? So are you doing the complete drivetrain and body parts or what?? More info on your swap please ?

I'm guessing that you're asking if he has the complete care intact rather than 'in tack'?

Sorry if I seem rude, but that's enough to confuse someone.

you'll run into problems with the gauge panels
This a problem many people are havin gwhen using a digital gauge cluster with the older mechanical. I'm not sure if the slightly changed 97 will be mech or dig. just a heads up but the 96 should slide into the 97 slot so just get use to km/h. Sounds like an awesome swap
take it easy, Micah

the problem deals with how the info is relayed fromt the tranny to the ecu. the 93-96 97's? is that the mechanical speedo goes from the tranny to the speedo and then sends a signal to the ecu. the 97? 98-01 send a electronic signal to the speedo and one to the ecu bi-passing the speedo.
I read a whole thread on it. if you're mechanical it shouldbe no trouble from what I understand.
I hope this has helped some, Micah

As far as I can tell, if you want to use the digital gauge panel then you just need to swap over the electronic speed sensor. If you want to keep your mechanical then you just need to swap your mechanical speed sensor over to the tranny going in.
