(Step by step?) instructions there. Also another take on it at the SVX FAQ: http://my.voyager.net/tmclane/#_Toc482082561 Let me know how it goes.

Hey Never2Phat,
I removed the intake silencer in the fender well of my Legacy GT. It wasn't too complicated. I don't know if I noticed any performance change other than maybe just thinking that it felt more peppy. I'm running an Amsoil TS-74 drop in panel filter in mine, which is the same as what the SVX would use. At idle, it sounds like there is a vacuum cleaner running under the hood. It's not a woosh sound, and it's not a high pitched sound. It's kind of like an 'air hum'. It goes away just a little above idle speed. At WOT you can really tell it's sucking in the air. It makes a different type of sound that is also hard to describe. Maybe on an SVX it'll be different. Let us know what you think.Rich http://www.lubedealer.com/tulsa |

Rich,
How much oil do you usually apply to one of those filters after cleaning it? (wondering if one 8oz. would be enough?) |

The filter comes pre-oiled from the factory, so you don't have to do anything at first. Just put it in. After you clean it, 8 oz. is plenty. In fact, I think you could almost get two cleanings out of it, but it's relatively cheap and you only have to do it once a year, so you might as well use it. Let me know if you've got any more questions.

I'm really bored because I have alot of time to kill. What I would like to do is remove the air intake resonator but do not know how. Anyone here done this before? I'm buying a better drop-in filter soon and figured I might as well remove the resonator to free up a little more air flow. ANY help would be appreciated

Good deal! Glad you like it. I'm always willing to try to help out if I can. Sorry if I push Amsoil too much sometimes. They've got excellent products, but not much adverstising, and I'm enjoying my affiliation with them. I'm just trying to get my 'business' going!
